• Effective communication is crucial to the physical and emotional well-being of the person with dementia.
• Ensure all health and personal care plans and reviews identify and support the linguistic needs of the care recipient, and their family. Determine what language(s) they are able to speak, read and write. Communicate and provide information to them according to their language preference and literacy level.
