The Earth is the lucky third planet from the Sun and the largest of the solar system’s four terrestrial planets. It is the most suitable place for human beings to live because it has adequate sources of everything essential for human beings. Predictions about the end of the world have been denied before. However many people predict that 2012 will be the end of our world. “Could we survive,”(n.d.) suggests that scientist should develop a research on the invention of space ship that could fuel itself for 5000 years and provide food for its passengers. Thus, human beings should enhance the achievement in science and technology for a better preparation to survive on the Earth-like planet.
On the new “Earth” there are possibilities of other creatures’ existence. This is based on the research proving that other creatures do exist in the Universe. According to (Newitz,2010), some creatures are easier to adapt with the environment where they feel comfortable while human beings still depend on their pesky needs such as oxygen and sugar. Newitz (2010) also states that it is possible to find creatures resemble to ice worms living in the seas of methane on the other planets and Tardigrades who live in hard vacuum can be a proof that there might be other organisms that drifting through space in search of new worlds to thrive on. Another difficulty that we have to face is the compatibility of human beings to live with other creatures that exist on the Earth-like planet. The other creatures may be dangerous and may be harmful to human beings but some of them may be beneficial for human beings as food supply and transportation. Besides that, other creatures may have their own organization so human beings may interrupt their kingdom and human beings may be treated as enemies. In doing so, Ish meets several characters and together they form a tribe to fit the new lifestyle. Ish becomes the leader of the group and the main focus of the story; however, he is not the only important character.
