Surviving Steve's Life

In 2005, Steve jobs discussed the value of death entering someone's life. In Steve’s speech he shared how his cancer turned his life around. The initial toll it paid on him and his family was unbearable. At first there was a lot of pain and confusion that lead to lots of tears. Then from one of the scariest moments in his life came some of the most beautiful moments. Not knowing whether or not that day, week or year was his last, Steve and his family began to cherish every opportunity they had with each other. .As hard as it may have been, in the end , Steve realized that the idea of death is not terrible. His doctor gave him less than six months to live. Ordering him to get his affairs in order and prepare to die. In the next few weeks Steve made one of his greatest discoveries along with Apple computers as he says, “all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure- these things just fall away in the face of death...There is no reason not to fallow your heart". For Steve, cancer became a spark in his life. He began spending long hour with his family while cherishing every moment. Without a doubt he was living more now than he ever was.

More and more people would come to see him, for hours while sharing some great memories. During this time he found out how much his family and friends actually mean to him. Hanging out with family and friends is what truly made Steve happy. This reminded me of how Roger Ebert keeper still movie reviews while on his death bed, because it is what made him the happiest in his life.

From the day we are born to the day we die the last thing we want to think about is death. For some it is too scary and other just too confusing, but I agree with Steve and his view. There is value in death. Death can be a positive outlook on life as you try and conceive everything you have ever
