Arrival the film by Denis Villeneuve commences by an arrival, however it’s not what the trailers would have you believe. The film begins with the birth of a child and follows the life of the child with her mom(Amy Adams) spanning about half a minute ending with a washed out scene of her mother crying over the now bald and teenage daughter in a hospital bed. Arrival is the best movie of 2016. On the surface it fills you with suspense, but also with an attitude of pondering. Dr. Louise Banks played by Adams a Linguistics proffesor is requested because of a prior work with the United States military and expertise in linguistics, to help the military communicate with the extraterrestrials who landed in Montana. The aliens landed in twelve seaming
In Cujo by Stephen King, the author uses third-limited omniscient view to enhance the level of suspense in the story. The author adds several details that talks about Donna’s feeling and thoughts when she sees Cujo and how she reacts to it. At the beginning of the story when Donna sees Cujo, “there was no contact between her brain and her legs. That twisted gray filament running down the core of her spine had shut of the signals.” This tells me that when Donna saw Cujo, her brain was telling her to do things but her body and legs refused to move. From this, we know what she is thinking at the time she saw Cujo. This adds suspense to the story because we now know that she has been paralyzed with fear and isn’t able to move. We are

I would enjoy my masterpiece’s success because it would show me that the reader has experienced a flowing, suspenseful story; a story that they want to continue after it ends. Having a good ending for my story would help give meaning to the reader. For example, in previous books that I have read, such as The Lion Boy, the book seems to be never ending, constantly moving. This results in a hook of some sort, getting the reader to want more words to suck in and more books to go through. The hook effect will help make a suspenseful story because if there wasn't one than there wouldn't be any anticipation or suspense. Overall, the meaning of my masterpiece will create a feeling of a never ending book, or a suspenseful book.
In the movie, The Fugitive, which is directed by Andrew Davies and stars Harrison Ford as Richard Kimble and Tommy Lee Jones as Sam Gerrard, Davies maintains a lot of suspense throughout the movie. The movie is about a vascular surgeon named Richard Kimble who goes home to find out that his wife is being murdered by a man with a prosthetic arm. The murderer escapes and when the police arrive they question Kimble and later on they convict him of murdering his wife. He is sentenced to a lethal injection and while he is on a bus to another jail, the other prisoners take charge of the bus and this allows Kimble to escape and prove his innocence.
The second reason that And Then There Were None should be on a high school Summer- reading list is because the plotline is extremely suspenseful. Take, for instance, the Indian figurines. […]What is suspenseful about this missing little china statue is that every day, one person is murdered, or, disappears. This suspense makes for a great summer reading book because teens especially need to be hooked on a book when there are so many other activities to compete for their time, such as sports. The best way is to find a book that is exciting. “There's nothing like a book you just can't put down” (“Thriller and Suspense Books for Teens”). The disappearing Indians, indicating a murder each day, do, in fact, provide suspense that just can’t be put
Suspense is a crucial ingredient in the making of horror and thriller films. The significance of suspense in horror films is to bring out the “twist or unexpected moment of realization that makes someone scream and one's heart race. In the film industry, there are various types of genre, but as different as films may seem, they all have one element that links them all together. That element is known as Mise-en-scene. Mise-en-scene is a French phrase that means “putting into the scene.” Mise-en-scene includes elements such as setting, lighting, costume, and figure movement and expression (acting).
Only lighting from a small area and the lighting up the ninja’s shoulders creates a feeling of darkness and mystery. The Triumphant and dramatic music makes the mood intense. There is no talking in the music to cause the viewer to focus on the fighting. Raz al Gul is talking in the background accompanied by the intense music. He uses short sentences to add suspense rather than long so the viewers don’t get confused. When the ninjas and Raz al Gul take out their swords it is synchronized and loud to surprise the viewer and show that they are together against Bruce. The tunnel vision adds to the suspense of the scene because it shows that Bruce is disadvantaged.

External action is when thing happen in the world and provide narrative information. Internal action is what occurs to a character mentally. The narrative of a film can either be linear or nonlinear. Linear is when the events of a film are explained from the beginning to the end. Nonlinear films are when the events are told out of order.
I conveyed a suspenseful and energetic mood throughout the trailer. I achieved this by adding constant suspenseful music throughout the video. I added multiple suspenseful and energetic soundtracks on top of the constant suspenseful one. I conveyed a suspenseful mood through dark visuals. I added a variation of music to help add excitement in the video.
