I have been always interested in shared learning and experiences with people around me. The availability of a global exposure to a multicultural and multilingual group at Swarthmore will definitely enrich my skills to be open to people from different parts of the world. I believe Swarthmore is a platform from where I can channelize my potential and talent and make it productive and constructive for me, my family, society, and eventually to the entire world.
Swarthmore college encourages bringing changes in the world, and I want to be the change agent in society. The most interesting aspect which compelled me to apply for Swarthmore is the unique learning methods and project works, which encourages students to involve practically. I want to
There are many valuable aspects to living in a diverse community, but the most valuable to me is the wide range of perspectives on world problems, and local situations. With a more diverse student body, People will bring new insights and ideas that others may not have thought of. It can also educate people about cultures, traditions, and backgrounds other than my own. This can be very helpful because with the knowledge of another culture,
A diverse academic community will help me and others to be familiar with the language, culture and tradition of so many countries. It will also be an ideal place where I can develop my knowledge and contribute to the existing diversity by introducing my culture and tradition. Even seeing people from around the world will motivate me to keep my grades up. Knowing different cultures will also assist me in my attempt to explore the world, since I get familiar with the
Engineering, to me, is a field that requires the application of practical and scientific knowledge for the better of humanity. The more knowledge gained allows for greater power. I have reason to believe that Swarthmore is one of the better colleges to provide me with the best education and provide for me all that is needed to succeed. Swarthmore is a very prestigious school that offers many opportunities and fields of study so that students may be able to properly decide on their courses and better decide for the future. As a liberal arts school it can and will certify me with the focus of chemical
Swarthmore's potential for creating opportunities to make important connections with people and companies caught my attention. The externship program intrigued me when I visited the campus, as well as the tri-college consortium. The cash-free campus and shuttles are wonderful additions that will allow me to explore and create many memories. The proximity to the city also allows for weekend adventures, and trips home via the train stations. I love the small class sizes and close-knit community that the campus nurtures. The campus itself is a work of art. Although I enjoy exploring the city, I always feel more at home surrounded by nature and fresh air. Besides the physical attributes of Swarthmore, the people make the campus irresistible. When
SMU seems like a diverse university. I have always attended schools in which most classes are composed of minorities. One thing to do in my college years is to meet more people from different locations. I am a Hispanic and I feel like many people do not really know about our culture. My culture is constructed of many stereotypes and I would love to show what my culture is really about and not just what society portray it as.
In regards to the time that my guidance counselor was supposed to send my scores, transcript, and activities resume, but only included my transcript, we did resolve the score dilemma, but I forgot about sending the activities resume as that was not an item on the checklist. If that can be included in my Swarthmore application, I would greatly appreciate that. I attached it as a PDF to this email.
I have worked in management consulting for over four years now. Over this time, I have learned much about business operations, financial management, and how the two are mutually related. In particular, my assignments with clients in the media industry has shown me how a cost cutting policy can lead to better evaluated investment decisions and, in the end, obtain better results with less resources. I have realized that the right investment strategies can help companies save their money in surplus years, building a reserve that they can tap into for future growth.
I am applying for the Assistant Professor Position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) at Bucknell University (Job no: 493839). Currently, I am an Assistant Clinical Professor and Research Educator in the Designing Innovations (DI) Research Stream in the First-Year Innovation and Research Experience (FIRE) at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD).
I got my first taste of Swarthmore when I accidentally stumbled upon The Phoenix. The colorful, informative articles of the publication showed me that Swarthmore is an institution where the desire to learn and grow is embedded in its culture. Immediately, I knew Swarthmore was my top choice. To Swarthmore, learning isn’t something that’s only done in the classroom; people strive to learn everywhere.
I have spent my life working towards being a person who gives back to her society. For me it is important to not only be a productive member of society but also be able to “pay it forward”. That is why I decided to attend Walden’s online doctoral program because of the university’s commitment to positive social change. By choosing to attend Walden University, I have further cemented my identity as an advocate for positive social change. I have, and plan on continue to be, an agent for change. My volunteering background and my research goals for my doctorate is proof of this calling to be a force for good in our society.
I feel that Brandeis has an important emphasis on diversity, which is something that I look for in a school. This past year I started the Foreign Language Club at my school because I discovered that I had a strong interest in learning about other cultures and I wanted to use that interest to do something beneficial to the community. The club promotes cultural awareness and community service in addition to learning a different language. The great experience I had working with the club affirmed my desire to continue my cultural studies in college because I want to combine my love of helping people, science, and my love of learning about the world so I can get a job relating to Global Health or something similar. I think Brandeis sincerely appreciates
At the University of Virginia, I will be able to gain the skills necessary to pursue my career goals. Throughout my time at UVA, I plan on joining dance and community service clubs, getting internships, studying abroad, and getting accepted to the McIntire School of Commerce. I intend to graduate with a major in commerce and a minor in dance. These are stepping stones towards my long term goal of establishing my own dance studio. By running my own business, I will be able to pursue my passions for dance and business while also giving back to the community by donating the proceeds from dance recitals and productions to local charities. I will be able to combine my academic interests with my extracurricular activities to create my dream job. Thus, by receiving this scholarship to help pay for my college education, I will be one step closer to achieving my dream of owning my own dance studio and promoting a love for dance in the next generation of young people.
I have always been interested in shared learning and experiences with people around me. The availability of a global exposure to a multicultural and multilingual group at Earlham College will definitely enrich my skills to be open to people from around the world. Moreover, when you are in the diversified place, there are more chances to gain the extra knowledge, extend the thinking horizon, and understand people closely. Surrounded by intellectually curious people, I believe that Earlham College will offer me a platform from where I can channelize my potentials and talents and make it productive and constructive for me, my family, society, and eventually to the entire world.
I would not try to embellish the truth that I fell in love with Boston at the first sight. While I was researching colleges a few months ago, the college Boston University caught my attention as just another prestigious school beside others. My interest grew more intense as i realized how unique and diverse Boston University is. I have attended a high school that is 90% Chinese immigrants, where I have been interacting with Chinese friends and living in a Chinese community. For four years in high school, I have learned only one view to the global community; the Chinese perspective. Not only I was not able to listen to the perspectives of other race, but also, my own perspective is slowly fading until I visited Boston University. I believe my
