Boys and Girls Club must consider factors such as existing competitors, resources, and customers. Using Porters Five-forces model Boys and Girls Club can analyze the competition. The five forces include treat of new entrants, bargaining power of buyers, bargaining power of suppliers, substitute products and services, and intensity of rivalry among comps in the industry. The threat of new competition means new charities or nonprofits entry the industry and that can threaten donations Boys and Girls Club receive and those donations can go to the new organization instead of Boys and Girls Club. This is a strong force because new charities and nonprofits arise almost every day and can quickly take over market share of existing organizations. New entrants into the nonprofit industry can be higher when a natural disaster occurs because people are more likely to ask for help. Bargaining power of buyers in this instance would be the people receiving donations from charities and nonprofits such as Boys and Girls Club. People that donate to Boys and Girls Club want to guarantee that their contributions are going to people in need and not into a scam, if the donations are not going for the right cause people will stop donating and that can result in hurting Boys and Girls Club in the long run, this force is also a strong one because if people do not donate because their funds are not ending up in the right place they can cease all donations and many people might do the same, which in the long run can make the organization shut down. Bargaining power of suppliers also again the donators, Boys and Girls Club can only operate and stay open to help others if people are willing to donate. This is a strong force also considering that Boys and Girls Club heavily depend on donates to operate and help people across the country, without those donations the organization could cease to exist.

Shortly after that USAA’s first employee was Harold Dunton, who was hired as a general manager. Major Walter Moore purchased the first automobile insurance policy for $114.74 and became USAA’s first member. Two years later in 1924 USAA printed their first credo. The company motto was “Service to the Services.” 1928 was the year that USAA started advertising 8,000 active component service members

Being that I am familiar with the Boys & Girls Club organizations both in Champaign and Chicago, I will share how I have connected with the organizations within the past few years. Being that the organization was founded to improve certain communities, I will explain how the activities

55). This is because things like a small flood would effect croplands differently than an urban center. A crop my actually benefit from silt deposits but the New York Stock Exchange would not. However, when disasters increase in scale they almost always have a significant impact on the economy (World Bank & United Nations, 2010, p. 55). Unfortunately, even though these impacts may be short-term there are third order effects on the economy. After Hurricane Katrina many areas were completely abandoned but many more were bought by developers pushing out the lower income populations, completely changing the local economy. This also highlights the different effect that disasters have on different demographics. As an example, the economies of developing countries are effected more by disasters then those of developed nations (World Bank & United Nations, 2010, p. 56). Although this may be because of population density or lack of infrastructure, it shows that demographics as well as the disaster itself have influence over the impact on local economy and
As a newly opened Friends Charter school, our focus is on achievement: putting students on track for graduation, offering challenging and rigorous classes and creating a positive and welcoming environment for all students. Every year, millions of immigrants come into the United States. Generally, the United States policies are complex but the topic of immigration in the country is far more complicated to understand. Currently, the topic is extremely controversial yet the government has been trying to avoid addressing it for quite a while now. Nevertheless, it is very rare for a candidate to make immigration policy part of his platform but in the 2016 presidential election Donald Trump even made it part of his campaign which caused world-wide controversy. Trump claimed that he would “make America great again” and create a high security wall along the border between Mexico and the United States. Nevertheless, any decision taken by the government will affect everyone in the country, whether in a positive or negative manner, as “an estimated 11.4 million unauthorized immigrants were living in the United States in January 2012 compared to 11.5 million in January 2011.” The numbers keep increasing every day
Thus, the purpose of the SWOT Analysis is unearth whether the school is achieving its vision.
Strategic Planning is the process by which leaders of the particular organization make a choice and decide to set up different strategies that will enable the organization to achieve better performance and continue on the path of success. The framework of the strategic planning can be defined as the social role of the organization, environment, technological and human resource factors all working as one in order to achieve the goals set in place by the organization. In the case of a non-profit organization, like Goodwill industries, where the industry sector is tremendously diverse in terms of the work Goodwill undertakes, the organization still needs a strategic plan. The way that a strategic plan is developed depends on the requirements for strategic planning in non-profit organizations, just as for profit organization, can and always should be designed to bring success, remain profitable, and avoid failure and misuse of much needed resources.
According to What is SWOT Anlysis (2011), SWOT analysis is an analysis used to identify the internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) of the company as well as external factors (opportunities and threats) of the company.
Per John M. Bryson, strategic planning, if properly conducted, can help the leaders and managers of public and non-profit organizations think, learn and act tactically. Strategic planning enables organizational leaders and managers to first identify their organization’s mission and/or purpose. Thereafter, the planning process permits these leaders to pinpoint the actions and activities that will enable the organization to achieve its mission. Finally, the planning process requires the organizational leaders to synthesize objectives and activities into a blueprint or concrete plan of action under which the organization will conduct its business.
The process of SWOT analysis is a universal method widely approached in corporations to scan the internal and external environment so that companies can deploy relevant countermeasures to make improvements. It contains four elements, they are strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (Helms & Nixon, 2010).
