Tesla Motors has built quite a reputation in the automotive industry since the establishment in 2003, leading the innovation in a sustainable transportation system. The company has grown to be the largest manufacturer of electric cars in the market. It has contributed more than 50,000 cars in road all over the world as of today. (Tesla Motors, n.d.). Its main goal is to create a transportation system towards to a zero-emission future that is more environment -friendly and sustainable.

Tesla’s original mission statement was “to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable transport.” However, in the mid of 2016, recent changes in the market and industry propelled the company to restate its mission statement while holding the same vision statement. As it is updated “to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.”, showing a small but meaningful change in the company’s business, to address the potential market opportunities for renewable energy. Tesla’s vision statement is “to create the most compelling car company of the 21st century by driving the world’s transition to electric vehicles.” This vision emphasizes the company’s focus on renewable resources and targets the company to be the most compelling player in the industry. Following its vision and mission statements, Tesla focuses its business on electric sustainable automobiles and related products that are environmental friendly.
