Corruption, fascism and rebellion are all main ideas in the film V for Vendetta, The director James McTeigue uses these to try and get the audience to think about how these ideas are relevant in modern society. Imagine a world where these these things didn’t exist, where there was no slavery or oppression and how much more peaceful the world would be. The first main idea that the director James McTeigue focused on in the film was Fascism, and was very prevalent throughout the film. This is shown through the authoritarian leader of Norsefire, Chancellor Sutler and how he oppresses all of england to his will while punishes anyone that doesn’t follow his regime. The director uses this idea to challenge the audience to think about how injustice like this is still happening in some parts of the world and how if all of the world came together to stop it then it wouldn’t happen anymore. …show more content…

Firstly his name that he chose is in reference to the room that he was kept in at the Larkhill Resettlement Camp between being tortured as the door was labeled with the roman numeral V. Secondly where he leaves his mark at every crime scene that he leaves being the circle with the V and is also shown in posters around the city from V and the people that want to stand up to Norsefire.
