The quality of loyalty is one that some may argue is necessary to build functioning human relationships. Others may suggest that they are not loyal to anyone, or that they do not need the support of anybody but themselves. I believe the answer to this question is a solid “maybe.” There are both positive and negative aspects, and therefore I cannot choose a clear “yes” or “no.” There are many situations where support and devotion are vital. For example, in Source A, a person was lost in the snow with his dog. The dog, showing loyalty, stayed with his owner for 30 hours until they could be rescued. Without this quality of devotion from his pet, the man would most likely have died alone. The dog could have left his owner to save himself, but instead his devotion kept him at his owner’s side. Another example is the loyalty between friends. If a person shares something deeply personal with his/her friend, it is expected that the friend stay loyal and keep it between them. However, if the second friend then goes to someone else and gossips, …show more content…
Take, for example, Source D. Nearly everyone knows who Adolf Hitler is, and not for a reputable reason. Although he had throngs of loyal followers willing to die for his cause, his ideas were not morally sound. In this case, loyalty did not create a positive outcome. Instead, it lead to the death of millions of innocent people. Simple blind devotion, without considering the possibility of negative effects, is not the correct choice. On a smaller level, Source C is a cartoon poking fun at the people who spend most of their lives working one boring, low-pay job. They are loyal to their department store or fast food location, but in the end it does not amount to anything. All the hours spent flipping cheap burgers or working at cash registers create a boring and unsatisfying career. It is loyalty, but it is not of the healthy
Loyalty is trait that every person in the world should have. An example of loyalty is when
Whether it's standing by a sibling in times of need or supporting a friend through difficult times, loyalty plays a significant role in shaping the bonds that refine our lives. Through the struggles and triumphs of the characters, we gain a deeper appreciation for the complexities of loyalty and its impact on the human
Loyalty brings people together and keep bonds between spirits close, even if two are not together
For example, grampa giving the Wilsons their eggs to show a token of appreciation for letting them live on their land. Loyalty can be showed in different ways like dedication, support, faithfulness, reliability, integrity and adherence. To show your loyalty to someone, you don’t need money, you just need attitude. In addition to this, loyalty is also shown in many pieces of literature or movies… the seven dwarfs
LOYALTY; A TIMELESS VIRTUE Loyalty, a virtue transcending time and culture, is a signal of commitment, trust, and unwavering support. This is a characteristic that unites individuals during challenging times, serving as the foundation of lasting relationships. Loyalty is often celebrated for its ability to inspire acts of selflessness, but it also challenges humans to test their limits of commitment and integrity. Throughout literature, loyalty has been explored, revealing its profound impact on people and society. In “The Odyssey”, the theme of loyalty is highly respected and displayed through the determination of its characters.
In our society today, loyalty is a trait that is valued by many, despite its relative weakness compared to betrayal. This is because many will remember the times when they were betrayed, yet will only remember a handful of times
Loyalty is a concept, which can be seen in many point of views. Some people relate loyalty to love, friendships and family. Loyalty isn’t just loving someone, being kind and helpful, it’s being devoted to someone, when times get hard, appreciating them for what they’ve done for you, putting them before you; and no matter what you will always be there for them even at the hardest of times. For some people being loyal is harder at the hard times, some people let inhumanity take over man itself or people betray and sometimes for many different reasons like rumors going around school but sometimes for reasons you feel at first to be a good reason but in the end you just feel guilty like in the novel Night by Elie Wiesel; like the son of the Rabbi
Loyalty is heroic. Loyalty is defined as faithfulness or devotion to a person, cause, obligations, or duties. In Homer's Odyssey one can see loyalty in many forms. Odysseus is loyal to the gods whom he realized held his life in their hands. Penelope was loyal to Odysseus, while trying not to offend the rude suitors. Telemachus was loyal to a father whom he only knew from the stories he had been told. Time and time again we see loyalty in the strongest sense, complete fidelity in time of uncertainty.
Loyalty should be considered a quality that is supposed to keep family ties together and use the shield of bravery to protect it. It is proven that devotion in families of today, are lost and bravery shows no character in a person. It is a personality that each individual has in them only to be used in the most courteous way and should not be used selfishly. Loyalty cannot be purchased and must be earned. If it used in the wrong way, it can climax to a disaster.
Loyalty to another person or to a cause may be an admirable trait, but it
Loyalty is important to me because I personally want loyalty from others, so I provide loyalty to others. I have always lived my life on the concept that “you get what you put in.” In response to that, I am loyal to others with hope that others will be loyal to me.
The theme of loyalty is present in the short story “After Twenty Years.” The two main characters are friends, but while one of the friends named Silky Bob is loyal to his friend Jimmy Wells, Jimmy was more loyal to his job. “I (Silky Bob) know Jimmy will meet me here if he’s alive, for he always was the truest, staunchest old chap in the world.” This quote took place when Silky Bob had hope
Loyalty, does it still exist today? I am of the opinion that it does; after all, our loyalty to God, family and country is what we stand for. Although, loyalty can be described by many other words, such as, faithfulness, commitment, obligation, devotion and allegiance. Therefore, the true meaning of loyalty may be left up the individual.
Loyalty is like a shadow it’s something that’s with you all of the time, but sometimes it’s hidden. Most people don’t show their loyalty hidden, but loyalty is something that’s not supposed to be hidden .To me loyalty is when someone is there for someone else. Loyalty is a characteristic many people should strive to have; it earns the trust and respect of many. A loyal person would never be able to fail someone because they are trustable. Loyalty is everywhere and there are many different kinds of loyalty.
Loyalty is sticking with the people who have hurt you or lost your trust. It’s having
