Syria, a country located in the Middle East, has received great news coverage for its overwhelming refugee problem that needs immediate attention. An ongoing unfortunate war in Syria has forced many of its citizens to flee the country and look for a better place of civilization. Unfortunately, the massive amount of Syrian refugees fleeing is resulting in a dilemma for the countries that they enter. The countries that they are entering, or want to enter, are willing to accept them but run into conflicts. Without regulating the process of acceptance regarding refugees, issues arise regarding security and carrying capacity. The people believe in him, because he would say all the right things, but his actions were at time contradictory. He soon would begin to forget what was most important, Syria’s societal issues, developing a sense of nationhood, and creating a beneficial economy (McHugo, 171). After World War II, Syria would begin leading into the downfall that has placed them where they are today.
There are three main political actors involved, Syria, America, and the European Union. Syria is driven out of their country because of war and insufficient living standards, resulting in thousands of refugees. Syria needs America and the European Union to open up and allow them to reestablish themselves within their countries. Syria’s biggest value would be their security and basic needs in order to survive. America’s main value would be the security of its people, since recent tragedies this may be a rising concern to the European Union also. Although, the European Union’s biggest value would be its carrying capacity. There main reasons as to why the Syrians are choosing to flee now is because of violence, collapsed infrastructure, and children’s safety (World Vision Staff). The Syrian war did not just begin, it has been ongoing since back in March 2011 (Ziad, Scales, Vearey, and Forsberg). It has resulted in over 240,000 deaths and plenty of casualties. Syria’s health care, education system, infrastructure, and economy are in a disastrous crisis.
