The Twentieth century emerged on the conventional separation of body and mind determined by a Dualistic model of health and illness, with an increasing focus on an interaction between the mind and the body. This shift in perspective is demonstrated of a holistic or a whole-person approach to health. Therefore, Health psychology maintains that the mind and body interact. Moreover, Health psychology is the study of psychological and behavioural processes of health, illness, and healthcare. It is apprehensive with the consideration of how psychological, behavioural, and cultural aspect to physical health and illness. However, A further discipline that challenged the biomedical model of health was behavioral medicine, which has been described by Schwartz and Weiss (1977) as being a combination of elements from the behavioral science disciplines (psychology, sociology, health education) and which focuses on health care, treatment and illness prevention. Though Behavioural medicine have expanded the scope of clinical behaviourism to neo behaviourist trends which emphasise the movement of contemporary behaviourist systems beyond the restriction of conditioning model to self regulation model of behaviour change and broaden to new theoretical developments to environmental control, cognitive behaviourism, social modelling and coping theory, it does not deal with different aspects which facts the illness what health psychology prefers.Health psychology deals with both prevention
