Tale Tell Heart Compare And Contrast

Have you read or heard of the two short stories that are called The Tell a Tale Heart or the Short story that is called called There Will Come Soft Rains. They are both short stories written by authors with different writing styles that are quite unique. Both stories were very different written by very different authors The Tell a Tale Heart was written by the author Edgar Allan Poe. The other story’s author that wrote the story There Will Come Soft Rains was named Ray Bradbury. The Authors both use quite unique writing styles but they are very different types of writing style. They both are in different genres one is a horror story and one is a Sci-FI. Both of these stories are quite different but also the same as they are very interesting

Edgar Allen Poe uses the man in our story Tell-Tale Heart, the first-person narrator to relate to human reactions to guilt and temptations while suffering from a mental disability. He conveys this message through various literary devices such as symbol, character, narration and historical context.

The Tell Tale Heart essay in my opinion was one of the best ones. This essay was to to help us understand how to write from different perspectives, not just the main character's perspective. I liked creating basically a fan fiction. We had to write from a different person’s perspective. This essay also taught me how to set the tone of a story.

Death is inevitable; this concept is easy to understand. The story Tell-Tale Heart written by Edgar Allen Poe describes the narrator’s insurmountable fear of death. A fear that haunts him day and night, driving him to rid himself of death itself by means of premeditated murder. By attentively conceiving a plan with a clear motive, the narrator commits the horrendous crime acutely knowledgeable of the dire consequences he may suffer.

In today’s society sanity is when someone is crazy or normal. In “The Tell Tale Heart”, story by Edgar Allan Poe is about how the narrator has taken over someone's life for an idea that came into his head. The narrator in the story “The Tell Tale Heart” is sane because of his intelligence thoughts and actions that he is doing.

“The Raven” by Edgar Allen Poe the student becomes obsessively pushing his need for self-torture to the extreme. To become more sorrow, he calls for the bird to hear only one response to become morself-tortured.

In “The Tell-Tale Heart”, Edgar Allan Poe illustrates how obsession can quickly turn into madness and destroy its victim and those connected to them. The narrator tries to convince us that he is in full control of his thought yet he is experiencing a condition that causes him to be over sensitive. Throughout the story we can see his obsession proving his insanity. The narrator claims that he can be a bit anxious and over emotional, he is not insane. A person that brutally killed four people, and unaware of the very fact that he is the one that murdered all of them. “Strawberry Spring” by Stephen King is a story that takes place at New Sharon college, at the start of strawberry spring, and the narrator tells the story about how there is a killer on the college campus, and in the end we find out he is the killer. “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman is a story from the perspective of a mentally ill woman, who is on a summer stay at a colonial mansion, and her husband makes her stay in a bedroom to treat her mental illness, however the result is compromised due to the wallpaper in the room making her feel more ill than ever before. To begin with, the Tell Tale Heart is very odd and suspenseful. It and the rewritten version are very different, and though they are both very descriptive, only one can help a reader understand the plot more. The original would be better because it tells you the narrator’s thoughts about why he wants to kill the old man, while the rewritten version, no matter what point of view, happens after the murder and would not help the reader understand the thoughts of the narrator.

My old English teacher, Mrs. Horne, was a very clever person. I had no other teacher like her. On the second week of school I saw something bizarre with her appearance! When she was lecturing in class one day I looked up and one of her eye balls was looking straight at me and the other one right at the book that we were discussing in class. It would leave me with goosebumps everywhere on my arms. Also I would sometimes catch her talking to herself alone! Whenever I catch her talking to herself I would quickly run away with fear. This really frightened me and thought that her defected eye was talking to her. Just thinking about this caught my eye because in the story “The Tell Tale Heart” written by Edgar Allen Poe, the narrator has a demon manifesting his thoughts and he wants to take the old man’s life away because of his pale blue vulture eye.

“The Tell Tale Heart”, a short story by Edgar Allan Poe which details the murder of an innocent old man with a “vulture” like eye that infuriates the unnamed narrator; he describes with a joyous excitement, the planning and execution of the killing as well as the hiding of the corpse in the floorboards. Poe uses literary devices such as authorial intrusion, italics, and cacophony to create a manic voice for the narrator.

     In Edgar Allan Poe’s short-story, “The Tell-Tale Heart,” the storyteller tries to convince the reader that he is not mad. At the very beginning of the story, he asks, "...why will you say I am mad?" When the storyteller tells his story, it's obvious why. He attempts to tell his story in a calm manner, but occasionally jumps into a frenzied rant. Poe's story demonstrates an inner conflict; the state of madness and emotional break-down that the subconscious can inflict upon one's self.

In the short story of Tell-Tale Heart, the narrator talks about an insane mad man who speaks to himself. He describes what his intentions to kill an old man who he loves, but allows his emotions to overwhelm him with the thoughts that the old man’s eye in which he identifies as a vulture’s eye is invading his every emotion. He goes on to expose his every move insanely and vividly to murder the old man.

Chills run up and down your spine and you begin to feel goosebumps on your arms. Quickly, the cold envelopes you and you feel frozen. What is this? It is the effects of horror fiction. You might be wondering, what in fact is the horror genre? The horror genre is not only the stories told at midnight about ghosts and ghouls. It is simply a story with suspense and tensions. Other details could be added such as good versus evil and supernatural versus natural. The setting might be very spooky and the descriptions probably alarm the reader's senses. “The Tell-Tale Heart” fits the horror genre because of the plot and descriptive writing.
