Talia is a young bright woman who came to me for issues that many of us face each day of who we really are. As a 17 yr. old young lady she is struggling with her self-esteem and who she is, and what she really wants to do in life due to her lack of background knowledge. She doesn’t know her Asian background or her Thai culture from the father’s side due to him not having contact with him. Right now Talia is in a stage where she wants to know what makes her unique, what makes her Talia? The issues right now that I see and will address with Talia are her self-esteem issues due to not having had a relationship, her feeling that part of herself is missing due to not knowing Buddhism, the loss of a father growing up. Her mom wants her to pick something …show more content…
Teaching her coping skills, having her go to teen groups for self-esteem can also help her relate to other young kids feeling the same way. Also it’s said that self-esteem “lies at the intersection of culture and cognition” (Strandell, 2016, para …show more content…
When a parent is absent from a child’s life is causes emotion scars, causes pieces to be missing from a person life. To help Talia I would have her mother come in to see what really is going on, to see if there is anything that mom can do to help Talia find her missing part. Not only is being 17 yr old a challenge in itself but being biracial and without a father role is can be so much harder. Mom might not know that Talia feels like part of herself is missing, that her self-esteem is at an all-time low. So letting mom know that she needs support right now and not pressure to pick a career is crucial. Mom needs to be there for Talia no matter what by being supportive. Talia not knowing what she wants to do in the future is also very normal, not many 17 yr olds know what they really want to do with life. Some may know but most have several ideas as to what they want to do like Talia. Also talking with mom why it is important for Talia to move out after high school will help in determines how to go about it. Graduating high school, starting a job and college plus living on your own can be very difficult so maybe explain that to mom can help her change her thoughts about Talia moving out right away. Instead maybe come with her option where Talia can help with food or

She’s shown little interest in daily activities, which she used to engage in, and has had difficulties falling asleep at night. Her mother has overheard her having frequent phone conversations with her a friend, which consist of her negative outlook on life. When her mother tries to get her to open up about what’s bothering her, she pushes her away with an abrupt “everything’s fine”.
“Self-esteem refers to the regard in which an individual holds himself or herself, and it enhances resilience by motivating behavior” (Gecas 1982; Rosenberg [1965] 1989). Self-esteem effects teens, especially girls in many ways. Some girls have
My mom has always supported my life choices even if she does not condone them. But know comes the time in my life where I need to make choice and decisions on my own. As much as I hate to say it I'm growing up and my parents are not always going to be there to help me through my life. Even though both careers are a passion I have dealing with critical thinking and a creative mind, I have decided I want to be a homicide detective. Even though a criminologist is a wonderful job in dealing with psychology it did not have enough substance to keep me happy in my job for the rest if my life. Now that I have made a very important choice in my life by myself I feel as more challenges come my way I will handle them by myself, It’s time to grow up and make my own life
Many teenagers will be able to relate to her because she mirrors many of us. Wanting to move forward but being held back by
❖ A child’s self esteem and confidence can be affected by negative experiences at school or other aspects of their life
College can be hard, but in the long run, it will be worth it to you to keep going. The future of your life depends on how you portray the present. People tend to follow the patterns of their parents or guardians. I would explain that in some cases you can overcome and do what is best for you even though your parents did not. Coincidentally, my parents did not go to college when they were younger. Back then it wasn’t so hard to find jobs without a degree, however, now most places won’t even consider you if you do not have a degree. Continuing, I would share with my friend that my dad is going back to school now to get his degree. It shows me that you can do anything you put your mind to if you really want it. He is a great inspiration for me, and I would hope to help my friend feel the same
Growing up in an overprotective environment never gave her the chance to become emotionally mature and independent. In addition, her parent's demands were always in first place and they were very strict.

I interviewed my mom according to questions I have prepared many question starting with, how was your first experience with college?”So excited with being by myself” … “ I was nervous about the classes i would have “... When it came to midterms i was stressed, it was hard for me to handle but i still got through it on my own and handled my responsibilities dealing with me getting through school.” i went on to ask her for any advice that she would want to be given her response was “To all the students that are graduating next year ,make early decisions so that you’ll be prepared for .life ,fore everything won't be laid out for you like always.” After all my research my intake on it all is that i still think college is for me,as a person i want to further myself and my profession as being a writer
She struggles with displaying appropriate and inappropriate behaviors with others. She longs for friends and a boyfriend, but due to her having difficulty with social communication and interactions, she hasn’t had any success.
Most people face self esteem problems at different levels. At some point in life people face this problem without realizing it. In the essay The Trouble with Self-Esteem written by Lauren Slater starts of by demonstrating a test. Self esteem test that determines whether you have a high self-esteem or low self-esteem. The question to be answered however is; what is the value and meaning of self-esteem? The trouble with self-esteem is that not everyone approaches it properly, taking a test or doing research based of a certain group of people is not the way to do so.
Since she was so used to getting good grades in middles school she blamed her low performance on the teacher by saying that her teacher did not liked her. In order to fit in, she tried out for the cheerleading team twice but didn't manage to get in which was disappointing for her. Eventually she got involved in many clubs and extra curriculum activities and learned how to cope with different stressful situation by taking a walk or talking to someone in order to calm her down. I really didn't have to take major decision throughout the transition because she was able to adjust herself to the new environment.
Enrichment Design Summary The implementation of environmental enrichment for mice is an important consideration when housing this species. Mice are curious and social mammals that are constantly exploring their surroundings, which aids in the development of both their mental and physical health. Because of their innate drive to climb, burrow, nest, and seek out food, enrichment for this species should allow them to act upon these natural behaviours. A climbing house for mice will provide safe enrichment, including stimulation and problem solving, access to food, abundant exercise, and the ability to hide and nest.
school isn’t meant for everyone. If you don’t have any desire to go to college then don’t go. You shouldn’t be forced to go to college if you don’t want to go. No reason in spending the money for no reason. I on the other hand want to go to college and don’t at the same time. My mom wants to make me go but I feel like it’ll be a waste of time. I want to take a year off, get a job and save. She however, doesn’t think I should do that because then I’ll never go. I’m not sure what I want to do that. I want to take a year off, adventure, travel, and
