Based on my own data and class data, I would classify my local tap water as moderately hard. Both the school’s tap water and the tap water from whitehall were moderately hard, and it is safe to assume that my own tap water would produce the same results. Also, based on what we already know about the hardness of water and how water seeps through the ground where it is filtered by stones and mineral deposits, plays a role in why we believe the hardness of our local water is moderately hard.
The data from the TDS analysis (table 2) show that tap water Mifflin hall, well water Wyckoff and stream water Raleigh has a higher amount of total dissolved solid compared to tap water Harleysville and Tap water Yosemite that have a low amount of total dissolved solid. Hard water is an annoying thing that most of the American face one time or the other. According to a US geological survey, hard water is found in more than 89.3% of the country. water is a universal solvent meaning it can dissolve more substance than any other solvent, that being said water from the rain is soft water, free from any mineral but as the water basses through the air it picks up carbon dioxide and other impurities in the air, and once the water reach the ground it start to dissolve mineral and change into a hard water with mineral such as Ca+, Mg+ [1].
At the start of the 1830s Native Americans vastly populated the areas of Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina and Florida.1 Although, because of Americans wanting the land for their own crop growing and Jackson idea of a perfect nation thousands of Indians were removed from the area they called home.3 Flashback to the year 1830, after being elected in the year 1828 President Andre Jackson made a commitment to remove all Indians in the east and south, and in the year 1830 congress passed the Indian Removal Act.4 The Indian nations of the Choctaws, Creeks, Chickasaws and Seminoles were forced to leave their lands, but none of these tribes were hit as hard as the Cherokee Nation.4 The Cherokee Nation refusing to give
Those who develop culturally responsive faculty development programs should examine the foundational principles upon which they are built; they will demonstrate the level of commitment to developing a cadre of culturally responsive educators. Any program, curriculum or agenda that does not have at its core the intention of creating an equitable society for everyone is a tool to maintain hegemonic practices (Gorski, 2008). While there is no set model or format for culturally responsive faculty development, there are certain traits that should be evident from such a program.

In America, we tend to take for granted our simple luxuries in life. Running water would be considered to be among these in most cases. We turn on the faucet, and out comes a safe and refreshing source of sustenance that is vital to our well-being. Now, if you can imagine, what happens when that refreshing drink of water is not replenishing your body, but killing it. A silent poison contaminating your way of life, only to find out years later that every ailment you and your family have endured and possibly even succumbed to, would be blamed on a source of drinking water. This is exactly what happened to the individuals that were stationed or employed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina from the years of 1953 to 1987. The most horrifying of
The controversy of bottled water verse tap water can be argued on both sides. However, tap water is the better alternative in the long run. Some may say there is a distinct taste difference between the two, yet most can't tell. In a college classroom, a group of students completed an experiment where they tasted a variety of waters: Great Value, Zephyrhills, and tap water. Most students guessed incorrectly, not tasting a difference (Combass). Although people have concerns with tap water, it is the most convenient. Not only is tap water cheaper, it is the safest source that positively impacts our environment.

It is important to know the concept of pH to start making a comparison between the two samples of water. pH is a measure of the number of hydronium ions in water. It is the source that identifies whether a liquid is acidic, basic or neutral. If the pH is outside the approved limit of 6.5 to 8.5, the water can become corrosive, leading to chlorine deficiency and scale problems. Corrosive water can dissolve high concentrations of copper and lead from the pipes and fixtures which will add an unpleasing taste to water, and possibly gives a health effect something like high blood pressure and stomach-ache. If the pH of the water rises above 8.5 it can be considered as a hard water. It does not have a direct risk but it can cause some awkwardness. A high pH can cause a bitter taste to the water and can lower the efficiency of electric water heaters. The alkalinity of can cause the water to be hard indicating that there is a high concentration of magnesium and
Alcohol has long been a subject of controversy. Long before man understood the indications and contraindications of alcohol there has been laws against this drug. Classifying alcohol as a drug may not be suited for a majority of the population because people like to partake in drinking. Imbibing in alcohol is a tradition in many parts of the country. We use alcohol for celebrations, traditions, socialization and combining food flavors with specific alcohols. Forgetting that too much can lead to many issues and problems like alcoholism, liver disease and contraindications with other medications. Alcohol was extremely detrimental to the native Americans of this land.

If people do research on the subject, they might find that tap water is better than bottled water. Tap water is better than bottled water because it is cheaper, safer to use, easier to access and maintain, and overall better for the environment.
Hard water is the water that has a high amount of mineral in it, usually Ca2+ and Mg+. These cations enter the source of water by leaching from minerals within a wet underground layer of water- bearing rock, or an aquifer. According to the WHO, hard water is not harmful to human’s health but it’s a serious problem in the water industry. Household plumbing and appliances are also greatly affected by hard water conditions. Some of the effects include clogged pipes, water heater inefficiency and hard scaling. Hard water is also linked to decreased water flow or water pressure and seized (frozen) valves in faucets,
