Lastly, in June of 2015 I was on my way to Target to get graham cracker, marshmallows, and chocolate to make s’mores with my little cousins. As I walked into Target, I saw an elderly woman trying to get some of the shoppers to hand her money so she can buy herself a jacket. As I walked to get the things I needed, I heard each shopper tell her some words I would not rather put in my paper. While I gathered my things on my list, the woman had made it inside the store to ask many others for money for a jacket. Each shopper told her no or ignored her because of the way she had been dressed. I decided to do a social experiment to see if this was the case. I set the ingredients’ for the s’mores down and went up to the same shopper the woman had

I’ve learned to integrate the essentials of baccalaureate education into my current practice by setting professional goals for myself and learning that I’m in a proficient level of nursing in my current practice as well as what it will take to reach expert level. I also learned how the use of evidence base practice is necessary for this changing healthcare environment and how nursing leadership can help through advocating for policy changes or new policies. The continuous changes in the healthcare environment have also created special populations who require a particular level of care. Also learned how important critical thinking is when it comes to developing a focused plan of care based on evidence along with the necessity of advocacy in

Twenty minutes in I decide to change my destination in the mall. I decided to go into stores specifically high end stores without shoes. I went into Armani Exchange. Inside the store, everything was very pricey with high quality. I believed that it would be a perfect place to test out how the employees and customers would react. In Armani Exchange, there were a couple of people that looked like there were in the upper class. One woman looked at me and scoffed whereas her husband was looked at me in curiosity. I felt like they were talking about me. They would casually whisper and look up and down at me while trying to give me direct eye contact. A few minutes later, an employee came up to me asked if I could leave the store. She asked me “Why I wasn’t wearing any shoes?”. But, what surprised me was that she was very kind to me. I assumed that she would be rude and snarky. But, I was wrong. She asked me if “I would like a pair of sandals in the back”. She told me that she had extra shoes. I immediately declined and explained to her that this was an experiment for an assignment. She later on laughed and told me that it was a good one. I proceeded to leave the store. I believe that this folkway worked well because it was something that wasn’t really ordinary in the public eye. I mean that because I went to a mall. Whereas, many people are aware that there are people who do not have shoes most people
Writing is a practice that most of us were taught when we were young. We were taught the basics of grammar, how to form a sentence, conjunction words, how to write paragraphs and more. Although we have learned this skill while growing up and have used the skill every year after entering kindergarten, this does not mean our writing process will ensure the best work. The authors that I chose each encourage their audience to excel in the art of writing in their own way to help with the writing process.
Do you think that ad trying to sell you Coca Cola really works? No, right? Well maybe it does affect your decisions more than you know. The use of mass media in Nazi Germany significantly affected the opinions, decisions, and overall life of many people. It defined the enemy, kept morales high, and according to Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’ could be used as a weapon. Propaganda was a powerful tool especially during Hitler’s reign.

I started working at Target at the age of 18 and was there for four and a half years. During that time I was able to promote to two different positions. At this company in order it promote to one of the six, store management positions you need to have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Since I did not have that I could not promote any further. Since having a degree was the rule to be in store management, Target as a whole company would have a booth at many career fairs around the United States geared toward new college graduates. Now, coming out of college, many of these people have never had any type of work experience or if they did it was definitely not in retail. When we would get managers in training it was always hard for us as

I totally agree with what the author is saying in the text. It takes time to get a good product out even though we think some people are deep and wonderful they still have the same struggles that we have when it comes to writing. I like this text because it is realistic it is giving an account of first drafts from common day people and shows how it is even for professional writers have problems with. This point is important because as people we sometimes feel we are not as good or capable of doing something not realizing that the people we look up to have the same problems we do. Another point that I agree with the author on is that you have to start somewhere. Many times as writers we don’t know where to start when it comes to writing. That being said we will just sit and think for ten twenty minutes when we could've just been information on the paper and then editing it later. In addition I liked that the author used examples from his professional experience when it came to writing food reviews. By him using details like how he went to the restaurant and sat down with friends and took notes of what was said. This was good to me because it helps me connect with him and the things that he does to write his reviews.
This is the end of my 8-week course for English 112 Writing & Research in Disciplines. Over the course of the class, I have grown and learned more than I actually thought possible about writing but there is still room for improvement. I came into this course, not a strong writer it’s not really my strong point and never has been. Although this course has taught me some various methods of writing a paper. For example, the last assignment where the paper had to be written in CSE format. It was difficult at first because I used to only writing in MLA or APA format.

This unit does not introduce much new material. Instead, we expect you to integrate technical and theoretical knowledge acquired from study across your degree. We refer to two frameworks that may support you in carrying out this integration:
Before I came to college, I felt my writing had to follow a certain pattern and be fixated around one way of thinking. What I was fortunate to learn was quite the opposite. Writing does not have to follow any certain pattern, but can rather be structured through many different possibilities. I was also told in high school that my papers either had to agree or disagree with the given topic, even if I believed otherwise. This formulated a very one-track way of thinking when it came to my papers. Now I know that I can let my mind explore new and exciting ideas. I can agree, disagree, compliment, criticize, and question the author however my heart desires, as long as I have the evidence to back myself up. Many authors in the book, Writing About Writing, explain their processes as well as the processes of others when it comes to writing. As a writer, I can draw on my own processes and relate them to the authors, as well as use their ideas and apply them to myself. Through reading, I have learned new methods of invention, planning and revising, and incubation when it comes to writing. All ways I can use to create more meaningful and creative work.
