Target does not believe in discrimination and wants everyone to feel accepted in their stores. This currently is a big debate across the nation. Why? Because people feel uncomfortable, unsafe, and weird. People think that this could potentially lead to more kidnaps and sexual abuse. One customer who is against the policy commented “Target’s policy is exactly how sexual predators get access to their victims. With Target publicly boasting that men can enter women’s bathrooms, where do you think predators are going to go?”

Gender is always in the news today, widely causing different problems in different states. For example, target has jut announced that they want transgender to use whatever bathroom they identify with on their birth certificates. This means that a transgender person, who thinks of himself as female, is still able to use the women’s bathroom. Many people are upset about these types of issues, and the Target issue, in particular.
AFA met with Target top officials and recommended the company to provide for unisex bathrooms for transgender people, in addition to male and female restrooms already being provided. But Target did not agree with AFA's suggestion.
Target products are appealing to the consumers because they look expensive but the products are very affordable. It is important for an organization to specify the products and services based on what the customers’ needs and wants are. This would help Target gain a competitive advantage over other retailers. The majority of Target’s customers are women and teenagers. So, the stores have bright and appealing items that would make the customers purchase the materials. Target offer clothing and even power tools catered to women.

Unfortunately for Target, they have had some bad press about the many stockouts that have had occurred in their stores (Marshall, Solomon, Stuart, 2012). This has taken an obvious toll on sales and customers are frustrated (Marshall, Solomon, Stuart, 2012). Target has worked to stock their stores with a vast variety of choices and it seems as though this has not worked in their favor.
Target was found in 1902 and the first store opened in 1962 in Roseville, Minnesota, which provided convenient shopping at discount prices. An interesting case I read up on after class was the disagreement about the transgender student at the largest high school district in Illinois against the federal authorities. The transgender student, born as a male, but identifying as a female is suing the high school district 211 in Palatine, the suburbs of Chicago because the student was denied the rights to shower in the female bathroom. The student identified as a female and is allowed to play on the girls sport team for several years, but now demands full access to the girls locker room.
Beforw the protection law got put in place 70% claimed they were denied access, verbally harassed, or physically assaulted in the public bathroom
Target has always maintained a great reputation. I enjoy shopping at Target because the store is always neat and the lines are not as long as Walmart. Although they are more expensive, I will pay more. I agree that poor performance can damage a company’s reputation. Do you feel with the latest boycott where transgender customers in its stores can to use the bathroom and changing rooms that align with their gender identity will have an effect on their reputation and will cause loyal customers to not do business with
Target is a chain retail store that specialise in women, men, boys, girls clothing, toys, shoes, cosmetics, women accessories and home ware. The stores are portioned in section or department for each mentioned category above. Change rooms are also sectioned according to each gender, thus females and males customers have their separate change rooms. I really enjoyed the separations that Target Australia offers as I feel safe to go shopping with my children their, hence I am not faced with a decision choosing whether my daughter’s change room or bathroom is been shared by a grown man.
Target has finally admitted its mistake in the transgender bathroom policy issue, but only said it was wrong to announce its long-held policy to the public via a blog post.
