Although the task force does effectively address the problem of substance abuse and addictive disorders, it does not effectively address co-occurring disorders. Early on in the text, a co-occurring disorder is defined as an individual who has a substance abuse disorder and a mental disorder at the same time. The task force mainly focuses on substance abuse. There are elements that are present in the treatment such as release prevention, engagement, and persuasion. The task force provides a number of interventions strategies address problems with substance use.
Introduction With each passing year, current technologies continue to evolve or change while new technology or innovations emerge that, in some instances, profoundly change markets, societies, or ways of living. For all organizations, to include the military, the persistent change of technology means that organizations must also evolve and change accordingly. Based on research by Accenture’s Paul Nunes and Tim Breene in 2011, only 7 percent of companies that cease to grow ever survive over the long term, which serves as a strong warning for any organization about the need to change. In addition to technological change, the military faces many other challenges as well. The most significant challenges include budgetary constraints, mandated drawdowns in personnel strength, and numerous mission demands across the globe.
I have a comprehensive understanding of the Department of Defense’s vision and direction and long-range plans and emerging technologies that can lead to proper programming and resource allocation. The Strategy of the DoD, DoN, and the USMC relies on the use of innovation and emerging technologies to maintain both a strategic and tactical advantage in the warfighting domain, and as a means of achieving efficiencies in the business domains. The DoD in general and the DoN specifically have in their vision statements and leadership direction that the services will use innovation both as a force multiplier and a means to achieve efficiencies and costs savings. While the various Services and Agencies within the DoD differ in some aspects, there are numerous similarities. They all have the vision and objectives to delivery information to the user to meet the Command and Control and IT needs, even in a contested environment. Generally, the goals within the Department are to consolidate and stabilize the infrastructure, unify communications, manage innovation, build and maintain a strategic workforce, consolidate datacenters leading to improve application portfolio access and management and lastly enhance network operations. I will point out here that I have been materially involved in all aspects of these
What laws does the President’s Task Force seek to enforce and what are its likely litigation targets?
As Marine Corps General Joseph Dunford emphasized in his February 26, 2015 statement to the house subcommittee on defense, “The challenges of the future operating environment will demand that our Nation maintains a force-in-readiness that is capable of global response.” Given today's fiscally constrained environment, the United States Marine Corps
"It is a false assumption of mankind to assume the resilience of outdated practices," said western thinker and philosopher Slavoj Žižek. I agree with Žižek in supporting the statement that it is always necessary to find new solutions to problems. Innovation is paramount to our growth as a civilization, and will perish if not used, which can be exemplified through literature, history, and current world affairs.
c. Activities to reduce any negative impact on people: John also suggested involving teams in goal and objective setting for their own product lines. Each month they meet to develop production and error rate projections for the next, with a goal continuously improving both rates to achieve a maximum of 4% error rate and a 40% increase in productivity within 24 months. Current error rates are at 22%. To incorporate this change, production lines will be closed for 48 hours for re-tooling. During this period, staff will be re-trained in the production of their designated lines by shift supervisors. Training required will include technical training, motivational training and quality control procedures along with goal and objective setting workshops.
I agree and support the intervention of the task force on the community preventive services through the entire communal campaigns .The campaigns would strategies on the effective measures to motivate and increase physical activity among the adults and children to enhance individual health within the society. The decision to involve the task force in the campaign of the physical activity is positive since regular physical activity is attributed to enhance human health and reduced risk of all-cause mortality. Regular physical activity improves aerobic capacity, muscular strength, body agility and coordination, lipid profiles, insulin level metabolic and immune function. Individuals who are physically fit have a reduced risk of developing cardiovascular
Task Force Cyclone was headquartered in Gulfport, Mississippi and commanded by Major General Gregory Vadnais this task force was compromised of nine task forces that covered the Mississippi area of responsibility (Wombwell, 2005). Diminishing resources and lack of predictability within the military budget process will introduce significant strategic, military and political risk. Joint Forces capability, capacity and readiness requirements are derived from the National Security Strategy, National Military Strategy and the Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) and provide the framework for Joint Force future strategy. Sequestration has severely impacted the Joint Forces ability to plan and program resources necessary to achieve these strategic objectives. Sequestration requires the DOD to execute across the board cuts from all accounts and has limited the department’s ability to move resources to accounts with greater needs. This has not only impacted readiness and force structure, but has also reduced investment in new weapon systems. Research and development is necessary in order to field new technologies that will enable the Joint Force to keep ahead of
Innovate The Army innovates by introducing new products or creating new uses for older designs and testing these through applied research. The Army will work to balance the near-term requirements with future development investments so there is always continuous innovation. Army
I came across Matthew Rajaratnam’s resume in early 2017 while my team and I were looking for additional help on a time-sensitive project involving the manual segmentation of CT scans to create a repository of data for machine learning purposes. Matthew stood out among the applicants and was hired.
Using Problem Solving to Address Challenges Organizations and its employees have to make decisions and solve problems on a daily basis. URS (An AECOM Company) Federal Services provides program management and technical services to the US Government, and engineering design, planning, and construction services for public and private businesses. URS also provides technology test and evaluation (T&E) support, with the US Military as one of its largest customers (URS, 2015). The T&E group serves as an independent evaluator for new and emerging technologies. As part of the T&E services, URS conducts technology assessments and provides the government with an unbiased report on the technology’s functional capabilities at the conclusion of the assessment period. The report is used to assist the government with its decision on whether or not to purchase the technology. The purpose of this paper is to discuss an organizational challenge that was encountered by URS while supporting its government customer and the company’s approach to solving the problem, and the outcome.
Innovation Process In order for organizations to become successful or maintain an ongoing success, they need to accommodate any necessary changes needed while remaining on a competitive edge. With this known, companies such as Coca-Cola have easily shown their success by becoming the largest manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of nonalcoholic beverages by which the company has products sold in 200 counties world wide. In this paper Team B will identify and explain the four phases of the innovative process. Using Coca-Cola as the subject company, there will also be discussions on the applications of the innovative process and identifying the tools and techniques that can be found useful in the process. Finally, there will be
