An educator is a profession that must inform students of their own specialized topic. Educators are everywhere all over the world, casually called “teachers”, or “professors”. A teacher may perhaps be the first person we learn something from that is not either of our own parents. Educators are there for people in preschool, all the way even into college courses. Teachers are interacting with students, parents, and administration on a daily basis. An educator is typically regarded by those in the profession as a highly rewarding job, and that they would rather be doing nothing else. Education plays a vital role in our society, it is a rewarding, yet time consuming job for teachers. It is an educator’s purpose to make a student understand the subject the educator is teaching. The classroom can be quite different when looked at from a teacher's perspective compared to a student’s. For the student, he or she must focus on what the teacher is doing, and grasp what concepts they are bringing forth. Whether that information comes from the teacher speaking, writing on the board, or has some other sort of visual aid. The student must use and apply that information from the educator to the best of their ability to pass the educator’s curriculum. While at the same time, the teacher is doing their best to convey knowledge to the students, in an easily comprehensible way. The teacher must also maintain the classroom behavior, and give the students the curriculum within the schools time
I believe that education is the key in developing today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders. Education is the basis on which individuals develop their self-concept and the desire to become more knowledgeable. I want to become an educator because I am interested in helping elementary students become active learners and also to assist with their social skills. I believe I can make a difference to many students as they start their educational foundation. I feel that all teachers should possess the desire to devote their hard work and efforts to their students’ educational success. I view teaching as not only one of the most respected careers, but also as one in which the rewards are great and many
The teacher must know how to set the tone for the classroom and ensure that it is a productive learning environment. The teacher wants to avoid anything that would provoke them negatively as well as the students. At the same time, they must know what is needed to reinforce good behavior.
Your main role as a teacher should be to teach in a way that involves and engages your student every session. You should also make sure that each individual is learning with consistent assessing of their progress and keeping records of this, to help we have a teaching and learning cycle (Gravells, A. 2012).
Merriam-Webster’s dictionary definition of the word “educate” is to develop and cultivate mentally or morally; train; instruct; teach. I would like to be that individual who educates because educators, or teachers, encourage a child’s developing curiosity through active learning, values, problem solving, language development and positive self-image, which help to benefit the child’s success in life. A teacher is someone who is respected and looked up to by others. As an early childhood educator I can have the opportunity to assist in positively influencing a young child’s life and mind. I can contribute to the growth and development of the individual child as they mature and evolve into a young adult. My genuine interest in children motivates me to pursue not only a career in education but also a commitment to life long learning experience.
Teachers have the power to change the world and to make a difference in the student's life. Teacher is a facilitator of knowledge, motivator, advisor and a positive person that can improve the student's education. I decided to pursue the career of education because I have the desire to help others. I also have the ambition to provide encouragement and support to the people that need it. Becoming a teacher means more than sharing my knowledge to the students. It is a commitment with society to shape the performance and learning of future generations.
The focus of education should be the learner as a whole including academic, social, emotional and physiological needs. I feel that only when the needs of the learner are met, can they truly learn to their fullest potential. The role of the learner should be that of a discoverer. They should be the ones making the meaning of what they are learning and connecting it to their lives. The goal of the teacher then becomes, a facilitator or guide who is there to help students make the most of their learning
Throughout my life I’ve encountered many educators whether through elementary, middle school, high school, or college level. My involvement with these educators throughout the years would become very instrumental in not only my learning, but also becoming an educator. Educators can range from parents, who become our primary educators of life as a child throughout adolescents, and eventually adulthood. A parent will educate us as youth on what we perceive as home training, family values and morals. Preachers can be educators as they educate you on the bible and the way of life. Teachers who serve as a master educator, serves a vital part of a child’s learning and learning needs.
First and foremost, an educator’s commitment should be to the student. She should be caring, honest, and fair. She should be clear and concise with policies, always maintaining control of her class. She should build up not break down. She should explore ways to enhance the learning experience so that her class does is not lost in a sea of boredom. She should be diligent in giving her students the best of what her field of study has to offer.
An educator recognizes the importance of reaching each student in the classroom and keeps learners engaged. Students often learn at different levels and it is essential that a great educator knows his or her students well enough to understand what instructional activities best engage each student. One student may understand the presented material by watching a video clip, but another student may need a hands-on activity to comprehend the lesson. An outstanding educator recognizes how each
Successful teaching occurs when the teacher is able to select the most efficient method for reaching out to each student’s individual style of learning and inspire students to rise to their highest potential. While the responsibilities of a teacher are extensive (as one can serve as a teacher, a friend, a counselor, a disciplinarian, an entertainer, a facilitator), I believe that students should play a big part in shaping own education as well.
In the practice of teaching, it is the responsibility of a teacher not only to teach students subject matter, but to teach students in order to enable them to grow and develop as a person. While it is essential for students to have an understanding of academic material, it is also equally as important that when students finish their education they have skills to use in
The last area is the student interaction with the curriculum, it is very important to know if students understand their academic material by providing feedback to solve any misconception and to prevent them from being distracted and putting their energy and attention elsewhere. Since academic failure and misbehaviour are strongly related, therefore, when the teacher monitors whether the assignment and instructions are understood, she will prevent classroom
As a teacher, one’s role and responsibility should be towards the learners’ ability to learn and for learning to be as tailored made for the individual learner.
There are many steps to becoming an educator. It is a process that is not easy, it is challenging. Many times, you will find yourself wondering if you are cut out for the education field. Once you have become an educator, that same questions will come up many times throughout your years. Being an educator is a not a field you go into knowing exactly what you need to do, you will be, thrown many curve balls and face many obstacles that the long process you went through to become an educator, could never prepare you for many of the situations you will face.
As a student, I have learned that you must get to know your professor and to find out what kind of teacher he or she is. Is she strict and secludes you like a hawk from the sky? Is he slow like a great torture, or maybe an old sleepy bear in hibernation. However, in the eighth grade, I had a teacher that I could not trust.
