Teachers of Tomorrow Teachers of Tomorrow as is an Early Childhood organization that is used to support the professional development of students in early childhood, elementary, middle school and exceptional child education. It is a group that brings different speakers and programs to Southeast for all education majors to enjoy. I was able to interview Bailey, the secretary of Teachers of Tomorrow. She has been a member for the past three years and became secretary for the organization this year. When asked about forms of hierarchy she responded with, “I would consider hierarchy to be President, Treasurer, Secretary, Service, Publicity, and then Social. I think the Secretary is important because I am the connection to all the members, and I need to maintain a relationship with all of them in order to help them succeed in the organization.”
Before you become an officer, as listed above, you must first become an official member. To become an official member, you must become a part of the National Organization called ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) and pay a small fee for a student membership that lasts one year. This membership includes online resources, professional development, and insurance for the classroom.
As secretary, Bailey mentioned the connection

Instead of having the club members speak about setting up a classroom, they invite first year teachers to come talk about it and share their ideas. Personally, I have only been in Teachers of Tomorrow since the beginning of this semester but I already understand what Bailey is talking about. The meetings I have attended are very interesting and engaging, and it’s exciting to know most of the speakers are recent alumni from Southeast. For example, one teacher that spoke was strictly an exceptional child teacher and because that is my major, I found this to be particularly helpful considering that is likely what my life will be
The next two tiers would include the middle managers. With my organisation being a school these would include the head of Key Stage such (KS) as key stage 3, 4 and 5 and the heads of departments. The head of key stage would be held by the Head of Years (H.O.Y) and being a secondary school it would include the head of year 7 up to and including the head of sixth form. There is also a support staff co-ordinator that would also have the same responsibilities as a middle manager. The diagram below would illustrate the seniority between these positions within the school.
As an educator, I have strived to develop academic, social and emotional competencies in my students through creating a positive, enthusiastic and nurturing classroom environment with ample opportunities for hands-on experiences. I am passionate about fostering confident and curious lifelong learners by providing all students with opportunities to succeed in the classroom. I believe the role of a Early Childhood teacher is to address the necessary balance between academic facilitation within the classroom, and promoting a broadened cultural understanding of the world outside the classroom as a global citizen. To encourage each child to be themselves and help them gain self-esteem. Also, as a bilingual speaker I strongly believe in the importance of foreign language and cultural diversity, especially within the minds of young, developing learners.
The career I have chosen is early childhood education. I want to teach children in grades pre-k through 1st grade. What does it take to become a teacher? Becoming a teacher takes a lot of patience and hard work. A teacher will have to identify learning patterns of children and pay attention to the different needs the children may have. Children have different learning styles. The teacher will be trained with different techniques of how to interact with children and how to reinforce good behavior. This is a must for pre-school teachers. The children that come through the doors have never been in a structured school setting. Everything is new to the children and they will probably behave as they do at home. I have volunteered in classrooms and watched how teachers reinforce good behavior. It can be the simplest thing, but to a child it will make a world of difference. The children set in their spot and the teacher will go around and give each student a smelly stamp. A teacher will change and have an impact the way a student learns.
Saumya Patel is 5 years old. He attends Kindergarten at Sumter County Primary School in the Sumter County School System. Saumya is very intelligent, and is very far ahead of many of the students on his level. He is very independent, and he is very capable of doing many things on his own. Saumya sometimes questions why he sits in a kindergarten classroom with his intelligence. He does not understand why some of his classmates act their age.
What young children learn at an early age can affect future learning in elementary school. With that being said early childhood educators have an impact on children 's learning during the first year of schooling. For instance, in a daycare-type setting toddlers learn to work together, they learn to share, and they learn to cooperate. Concepts such as these, though not limited to, are concepts that are not just used when they are first learned. As children grow up learning to work together, share, and cooperate would help in being successful in school and outside of school.
This research report presents an analysis of and conclusions drawn from the experiences and perspectives of two educators that work in the early childhood setting. The main objective is to identify key elements and issues in relation to the families, diversity and difference. In particular how an early childhood educator implements, different approaches to honour culture and diversity, and to advocate for social justice in an early childhood settings. As such, it allows an insight into the important role that families and their background plays in the everyday lives of the children and educators within early childhood settings. In today’s ever-changing growing society it is essential for educators to be flexible to the
Hierarchy is what creates an order in society, without it there would be little to no rules set in place that people followed. People who have hierarchy are advised to
Partnership is all about communication and shared experiences. There are many indigenous resources to help Early Childhood services such as SNAICC and IPSU, the NSW Aboriginal Child, Youth and Family Strategy, Early Childhood Australia, ACECQA, these can help with information and resources and professional development. These services can help Early Childhood services connect with the local community to develop partnerships and goals.
Organizational structure “is the formal and informal manner in which tasks and responsibilities, lines of authority, channels of communication, and dimensions of power are established and coordinated within an organization.” (Kirst-Ashman, 2010). This permits the understanding and knowledge in regards to how decisions are made, what chain of command is followed and what are some of the procedures that regulate the Orchesis Dance Company. Ordinarily, this starts off with President Gallot who oversees the entire university and reports to the ULS Board of Supervisors, followed by the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ellen Smiley who ensures the delivery of quality degree programs are provided to each student
We can see hierarchy in the setting of the workplace. At the top of the ladder and most respected are the
Have you considered a career as an Early Childhood Educator? Many people have not felt they are qualified to hold such an important position. Others have heard their calling to work with children early on in their adult lives. Having a career as an Early Childhood Educator can not only be fullfilling, but also rewarding. It is important to understand the criterion that is considered a profession. In our text it states the definition of prefession as, “It is an occupation that serves the public welfare and that requires specialized educational training in some branch of learning or science” (Feeney, S., 2012, p.6).
The professional membership I have interest in is the National Association for the Education of Young Children- (NAEYC). I chose this association because I want to become an Elementary teacher. I also chose this association because, they can give you the support, advice, and everything you need for becoming a great future teacher. This association also loves kids as much as me. It is also known for the best professional early childhood association. This professional membership will provide you with all the information and list of topics you need to be successful. The purpose for this association is to give children from new born to age 8, an early great learning experience. This association want the children to be advanced in life.
Consequently, the quest for individualism and self-control perpetuates our current system of organization: a social hierarchy. Basically, a hierarchy is a system of ranks given to parts of a category that denotes worth relative to other parts of the category, and are notorious for being used a justification for discrimination. The three main categories of discrimination mentioned in Counihan’s article are classism, sexism, and racism.
The foundation is organized much like a corporation, with a hierarchy that contains several tiers of
