Schools must be more secure. It's hard to find ways to make schools safer without sounding too extreme, but it's better safe than sorry. Lately there has been lots of school shootings and we are trying to find a way how to make learning facilities safer. One of the ways is not arming teacher, but there are many reasonable ways.

First reason, people may think it is safe for teachers to be armed with guns but arming teachers would be a bad thing because teachers first responsibility is to teach. My second reason why arming teachers is bad is because the gun can be misguided or misused by students or teachers. Finally, my last reason to why arming teachers is one of the worst idea is because it can only make things hard for the first responders.

The big question in a lot of schools today do to several shootings and terrible incidents is whether or not a teacher should be able to be armed with a gun in case a situation of self-defense. It is a concern from regular citizens to teachers and all the way up to the government itself. Teachers are at school to educate and should not have the burden of the role of protecting students from armed shooters. Carrying a gun is not part of a teacher`s job. Tennessee Education Commissioner Candice McQueen also holds this position saying that none of her teachers want to be armed (Pignolet). We must listen to our teachers and acknowledge that they do not want to carry a gun. Additionally we should not add an extra job to our teachers who already have enough on their plate.

Should Teachers Be Trained To Use and Carry Guns In Schools? Teacher should be trained to use and carry guns in school. This is because so many students have lost their lives in school shootings because a teacher has no way to defend against a bay nor does the student.
