Botanist, zoo director, orthodontist, and park ranger. These are only four of the many, many jobs that need their employees to have a good background in the sciences. It is very important that children begin to be taught about science when they are introduced to the other fundamental subjects. If a child has a good understanding of science and scientific thinking, they can use these processes in everyday life. Science is also important for kids to know because it can open their eyes to an abundance of occupations. Even students, who will grow up to work in a field that is unrelated to science, will still need to use the processes to help them make educated decisions.

Some of the careers they may be able to land, such as cardiologist, anesthesiologist, and just about any type of surgeon, are careers which pay extremely well. If a college graduate is able to land one of these jobs, he or she will most certainly have a fairly easy life, concerning anything that requires money. A reason for a child taking a liking to these studies could be that “teaching lessons that deal with scientific phenomena can form the foundation for a permanent interest in the sciences” (Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker). Getting students of all ages interested in the sciences can be beneficial for not only them, but the rest of the world as well. If one out of every three of the interested students becomes a scientist, we will have more scientists to work on finding cures for all the diseases that other scientists have not found a cure to. As the old saying goes, the more scientists, the better.
However, many people believe that just because they are going into a profession that has nothing to do with science, they do not need science at all. However, that is completely untrue. Students who go to “work in a field unrelated to the sciences have to have a foundation for understanding their world that allows them to make informed decisions” (Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker).
