It is essential to have teamwork within a company. Companies who have embraced the concept of teamwork have reported increased performance in work production, problem solving and it has stimulated new growth. This group project approach has improved employee morale and increased input when managed correctly. The benefits of teamwork can make a positive effect in the company that incorporates this type of teamwork approach.

Teams have become very common and effective since they have proven to be effective in areas as cost reduction, developing new and innovative products, and improving quality (Effective Human relation, 2008). Team development is supported, in fact, required by almost all managements today, but still it may take quite a long time for the members to learn the task and activities and to fit themselves in the particular environment. Motivation is defined as, “the reason for the action; that which gives purpose and direction to behavior.” Motivation is key in personal life as well as the career world. Motivation in the work place is highly dependent on employers being able to understand the needs and wants of their employees. Teamwork can also increase the profit of an organization and reduce the traditional hierarchical structure of the management in a business. This can increase the satisfaction of job among the employees and it also can increase the productivity and efficiency of employees once their job satisfaction have been achieved. By developing teamwork in an organization, it helps to improve and maintain the customer relationships and increase the employee motivation and commitment. Moreover, teamwork can also improve the processes for the recognition of a team and the contribution of the team

Teams are an integral component of organizational success. They take on many forms and functions and can have various structures. Teams also conduct a wide variety of projects with goals of innovation or mitigation. An example, from my experience, of a project that required the execution from a team was the establishment of a finished goods inventory program within a paper manufacturing company. A project of this magnitude required that a diverse and multifaceted team be assembled.

When working with a large task it is helpful to have a plan of action. There are usually many steps and much involvement is necessary for production and or operation. Because of this, it is helpful to have a helping hand. Once team members have been selected and plans are complete it is then necessary to think about who will be better suited for each type of function. Often times, a majority of these functions overlap and involve one another and team members need to work together. That is when teamwork comes in handy. Without teamwork many of the largest projects could not be complete and possible. They are an essential part of business.

Traditionally teams are built by putting a group of people together without considering many traits or characteristics about those people, then expecting them to work together in a productive manner. Often times this does not work well at all, particularly if the person in charge is unfamiliar with the team concept themselves. Teams have to be cohesive in their ability to make decisions and handle projects within their organization. Sometimes cohesiveness causes team members who are not adept at working with others to push back at the team and this causes friction within the team. Team building models have been developed over the years to make teams work.

I became really interested in the well-being of employees within a corporation. I consider that in order to obtain happiness and satisfaction of employees, human resources is very important for any type of business, even a small one.

Contrary to popular belief, volleyball is not an over-glorified version of ‘Don't let the balloon touch the floor’. Volleyball is about teamwork and personalities and skills. You can’t have a good volleyball team without teamwork, the correct personalities, and the correct skills.
