I’m currently interested in internal medicine and orthopedic surgery. However, I’m still undecided, because I feel like I haven’t been exposed to all the fields to make a formal decision. Thus, I would like to keep an open mind coming in and pick a field that I truly love. As a member of the armed forces, I truly believe in teamwork and how working as a team would be beneficial to the patients in term of exploring an appropriate treatment plan tailoring specifically to the patient needs. I choose to devote most of my professional time in patient care because that is one of reasons I want to practice medicine. I believe it’s a privilege to have the opportunity to serve the community and providing the needs of the healthcare. Although I think
From an early age we are instilled the importance of teamwork. The lessons may come from a soccer field, a classroom group project, or even a song on Sesame Street. Regardless of our future careers, we are all likely to experience some sort of teamwork requirement, even if it is as simple as getting along with your co-workers.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. These interests were most likely brought to life from my desire to want to help people and learn more about the human body. The experiences I’ve had throughout my life have brought me closer to the belief that I can one day make a difference in the world through medicine. All though I am not completely decided on what I would like my future career to be, I have been able to narrow my options down to a few of the many choices available.
There are many members of the healthcare profession that can be present in the multidisciplinary team. The Ultrasound technician will facilitate the abdominal ultrasound to produce images of the organs for interpretation.
Other reasons for my interest in this specific field include the flexibility between various medical specialties, sole focus on patient care, and the balance that can be achieved between the career and one’s life. I am unsure about which specialty I want to pursue, however, I have been exploring the fields of oncology, pathology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine through various work, volunteer, and shadowing experiences. I have been active in various volunteer activities since my early years in high school. During high school, I devoted the majority of my time to our marching and concert bands as well as our Interact club. Interact is a high school level community service organization branching off of the parent organization, Rotary International.
In order to test my dedication to medicine, I worked as a Certified Nurse Assistance (CNA). My experience as a CNA left me with a desire for more medical experience. Around this time, I decided to join the service. I enlisted into the U.S Air Force as an aerospace medical technician. Joining the U.S Air Force provided more than just medical skills. The U.S Air Force core values also supplement my medical training. The core values are Integrity First, Service before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. Out of all my medical experiences, my position as an Aerospace Medical Technician has allowed me to be stimulated with insight within the medical field. This has given me opportunities to serve my fellow airmen and country in their moments of need. This also allows me to closely observe a working physician. As a military medic I was held to a high standard, this help me develop a level of maturity for medicine that I would not have gain otherwise. I even had the chance to sharpen skills with procedures such as tracheotomy, intubation and traumatic emergencies scenario. The Air Force Medical experience helped strengthen my love for
In healthcare, one of the elements is collaboration. According to Clements, Dault and Priest, (2017), it is important to identify collaboration as being both a process that affects work group and as an outcome. Collaboration can still take place whether or not health professionals consider themselves to be part of a team. When there is no collaboration, then having an effective work group would be impossible. Another element that is needed is cooperation. An effective work group would require the members to co-operate in order to meet the shared goal. Group members would sacrifice their independence and allow their activity to be managed by either the group leader or through shared decision making. This is where commitment and trust would
Being a member of a medical team has several advantages. First, it is a challenging job because it has a competitive environment. Therefore, I always have to thrive for the best which will lead to increase my medical skills. Also, there are strict rules and regulations which will make me more responsible. The second advantage is that it has a great room for developing research. Eventually, it will lead to cure diseases and finding new medications and helping humanity by saving lives. Finally, working in a medical profession will offer many guarantees such as having a good salary, health insurance, and job security. To sum up, I decided to join the medical major to be able to develop the current researchers and help the

separated responsibilities to each of them to reach the same goal. The concept is that

What are the advantages and disadvantages of working in teams? By reference to relevant theory show how can the disadvantages be reduced or avoided.
Aristotle is credited with stating the whole is greater than the simple sum of its parts. This also represents the definition of synergy. Synergy is the unified working of the sum to create something greater than the individual components. For instance a car engine is comprised of an engine block, belts, hoses, spark plugs, and other miscellaneous components. Individually these components are not going to propel a vehicle however when put together and fed some fuel the components create the oomph needed to support transportation. In sports and business the cooperation and collaboration of people in organizations is no different. The people within these groups must be working in a unified manner toward a common set of goals and objectives. This common set of goals and objective provides the end point so that a team of people have the necessary oomph, to achieve outcomes that would otherwise be unattainable by a single individual.
