On the surface, the fish out of water comedy, Thermae Romae, is just that, a comedy. But this comedy about a Roman who often and unintentionally time travels to Modern Japan to learn about modern bathroom amenities actually reveals an important value in Japanese culture, teamwork. In one of the most striking scenes in the movie, Thermae Romae, the main character, Lucius, works together with various characters from the 21st century, such as Mami and Shuzo, in order to build hot huts and outdoor baths to rejuvenate the injured soldiers of the Roman empire and ensure Rome's victory.
