As stated before, Bundy had killed over 30 women. This vast number of killings would qualify him to be considered a “serial killer”. Although serial killers are not common among society, the act of killing another person intentionally, or homicide, is fairly common. Ted Bundy, infamous serial rapist and murderer, was first arrested for kidnapping and was sentenced for time in prison. He escaped two years later, and was recaptured eight days later. But he did not give up, again December 1977 he escaped and the authorities did not discover till fifteen hours later, giving him a head start to Florida, where he was headed. The following January one night, he attacked four girls and killed two of them, his last ones because in July 1979, he was convicted of murderer twice for those last ones. As he was investigated more, he has confessed to thirty six plus murderer, and investigator still suspect it to be much more, nonetheless, he killed people for his own satisfaction. Did he deserve the death penalty? Did he deserve to die when he kill only almost 40 people? It may be a little too late to ask that because on January 24, 1989, he died in Florida’s electric chair as he consewuence. Nonetheless,and as unfortunate as it it, people like bundy exist today, some yet to be discovered.

He found it difficult to engage with people after breaking up with his girlfriend. This serial killer suffered from Antisocial personality disorder. without any empathy at all, Ted Bundy killed and raped at least 36 people, most of them were college students with brown long hair. Bundy was becoming better on the outside; a murderous rage was building on the inside of him. In other words, Ted’s superficial was charming, engaging, and he was intelligent. He took advantage of people who trusted him because of his appearance. He used double personalities when he was seducing women. The Charming Evil Bundy used to wear a cast on his arm and ask beautiful women to help him with his books to the car, after that he hit them with his crutches and push them into his car. He usually brutally beat, rape, and murder those women without any reason. Ted Bundy was untruthfulness, insincerely, and lacking empathy. His first murder is believed to have occurred in 1974, when a young woman was kidnapped from her basement apartment in Seattle. The only evidence that remained was a few blood stains (Salem Press, 2008). Upsurges in abductions of young women, in their college years, around the King County area in Washington followed suit. As time progressed, skeletonized remains of those missing women were later discovered amongst the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. After kidnapping his victims, Bundy would often rendered them unconscious, take them to a remote location where he would then strangle and assault them (Salem Press, 2008).

Bundy was a serial killer, rapist, kidnapper and burglar throughout the 70s. From what we know, Bundy killed twenty women throughout the 1970s, admitted to killing thirty-six, and is thought to have killed roughly 100 women all across the western states (Piccotti). Bundy worked across six western states: Washington, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, and Florida (Fraga). When planning to kill, he usually followed a pattern (Piccotti). Bundy enjoyed abducting, assaulting, murdering young college women (SC).

According to the text the rational choice theory is the view that crime is a function of a decision-making process in which the potential offender weighs the potential costs and benefits of an illegal act. Evaluating Ted Bundy according to the rational choice theory, he knew what he was doing weighed his options, picked how he would attack kill and rape his victims. He meticulously sought out his victims. Typically Bundy would bludgeon his victims, strangle them to death then rape them or engage in necrophilia. According to this theory he fully planned out each attack knowing that it was wrong, illegal, and immoral.

“ He even shockingly displayed their decapitated heads in his apartment and slept with their corpses until putrefaction made it unbearable” ( “Ted Bundy”). Bundy was stopped by a highway patrol officer and upon searching his vehicle he found burglary tools which led to his arrest. “ He was arrested for possession of these tools and the police began to link him to much more sinister crimes”( “Ted Bundy Biography”,2018). After this incident he was under surveillance by police where they finally arrested him in the kidnapping case of Carol DaRonch. “He was convicted and received a one-to-15 year jail sentence” (“Ted Bundy Biography",2018).

Ted bundy killed at least 36 people that were mostly women. He did so without feeling any senses remorse or empathy to the victims or their families. After undergoing different kinds of psychiatric assessments, the original diagnosis was bipolar disorder with multiple personality disorder. Later on they scratched that and learned that had antisocial personality disorder. Oddly as well, when he was awaiting his trial he got tons of love letters and even marriage proposals and pictures of naked women, proving the kind of twisted manipulative person Bundy was.
