Across America, many teen pregnancy are becoming popular. Many students have been educated on this topic, while other have not. When teens make the faulty decision, they do not know about the consequences that come with it. Consequences end up in having a child, and having a child is a lot of responsibility. Teens tend not to have much responsibility as important as taking care of a child.

There is no question that teen pregnancy is a worldwide issue in today’s society. Every year thousands of young, unprepared teenage girls face the decision whether to become a mother or to give their baby up for adoption for a better life. Some mothers choose to give their baby up because they feel as if they could not give the baby what is needed to have a good life. If you have ever heard of the show “16 and Pregnant” both sides of the situation have happened. In order to help prevent teenage pregnancy in the United States, teenagers must understand why, having a baby now isn’t such a smart move on their part.

Teen pregnancy, and abortions is something that is becoming a trending issue in American Society. There are TV shows being made high-lighting teen pregnancy it’s being freely talked about through social media. With this type of promoting it’s making young girls think teen pregnancy it’s cute “Oh I get to be on a show” is the new fun thing to do today. With them being so young, and naïve it is easy to manipulate them. Recently recorded in 2011 the abortion rate in women aged from 15-44 is 13.9 per 1000 women. The ratio is 219 per 1000 live births. Teen pregnancy rate is a little bit more updated in 2015 it was recorded that with 229,715 babies being born from women aged between 15-19 years old. Teen pregnancy, and abortions are influenced by a lot of things. Men nowadays are a lot more mature and know how to manipulate young girls to get them in bed, parents are sometimes absent at home, and schools are no longer talking about the dangers of unprotected sex.

Teenage Pregnancy is when a mentally immature female adolescent under the age of nineteen is pregnant. I’m here to argue why the show “Teen Mom,” is negatively influencing today's younger generation. Teenage pregnancy is pregnancy in females under the age of 20. It has become so common in our society today. Younger generations are beginning to label it as “normal” or “acceptable”. This is not an issue that society should take lightly, just because it continues to happen so often. Although many look down on teenage pregnancy, some believe it can be positive. A study done by “Teenage Parenthood”, argues that many teenage mothers are motivated to turn their lives around to provide for their children. The study states that people focus their attention on attacking the mother and father, rather than looking at the pro’s of the situation. I believe that teens should be smarter about the decisions they make, so that special precautions don’t have to be taken by the people around them.

However, teens should act responsibly and take issues into their own hands and do the precautions to avoid an unintended pregnancy. Teens know exactly what they are doing when they engage in sexual activities and they know exactly what they are risking; an unintended pregnancy or an STD. Teenagers are physiologically capable of reproducing but not emotionally or financially prepared to be parents at such a tender age. Through various research studies a plethora of determinants has pin pointed teens unprecedented pregnancies. One cause of this problem is the apparent indication of social separation or disadvantage. Within this issue you would find poverty, single parent households, educational disadvantages on the parents behalf, a lack family/parental support, and unemployment. A child’s educational performance, inappropriate sexual acts, and inferior apprehensions about their futures play a vital role in teen pregnancies as well. Amongst the listed disadvantages the three that take precedent are lacks of family communication, sexual abuse, and poverty. Furthermore, teen mothers do not fit the ideal ideology of the normative scheduling of motherhood, therefore, ultimately resulting in negative consequences for them and society.
