Teen Rebellion is a common theme throughout movies, literature, and song lyrics. Teen rebellion is a normal action through teen years. Teen rebellion is caused by wanting to prove a point and a craving for freedom. During teenage years you always want prove a point weather to an authority figure or even to yourself. This play called Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare, is about the two star crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families and one of the most popular tragedies ever written by Shakespeare. I believe William Shakespeare message to youth/teenagers is to explain the way teenagers are unreasonable and the way they make their gratuitous risks for their loved ones. They don't think of the actions they are doing because they are so in love. The are optimistic and believe there are always happy endings. Most teenagers are not cautious about their choices they make because they end up serving consequences for their actions they made all for a girl.
William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, not only sparks themes of love, violence, individuality, and fate, but also of youth and immaturity. As one of the most famous tales of young love to every exist, Romeo and Juliet adds a certain effect of self destruction that comes along with the passionate feelings that escalate between the two young lovers. Throughout the play, the two teenagers discover the power of their love, only to be brought to a great demise due to foolishness and rash decisions. These poor choices are caused by the character's’ immaturity and inability to fully think out their actions.
Could you kill yourself for someone you just met? In “Romeo and Juliet” a book written by William Shakespeare two love struck teens let their emotions lead them through a rough journey of marriage, murder, and betrayal. Overall Romeo and Juliet is a relevant piece of work for people in modern times because it teaches people consequences for very extreme situations and bad decisions. It shows how powerful love is, like when both Romeo and Juliet kill themselves because they can not live without each other. It also teaches how common suicide is, and how most kids rely on suicide as the next step when they think they have nothing left. Finally, it reveals how rebellious teens are, like when Juliet faked her death to be with
In Romeo and Juliet, written by the prominent writer William Shakespeare, two teenagers fall in love. Because of their families’ feud, they are not allowed to be together. It is very different back in their era. Juliet was set up with Paris, a kinsman of the prince, by her parents. However, she does not have any true feelings for him. Her heart belongs to Romeo which she has loved from the first time she set eyes on him. This is shown by what she said to the nurse “Go ask his name.- If he be married, My grave is like to be my wedding bed” (1, 5, 133-134). Romeo does not interact often with his parents in the play and spends most of his time outside of his home. Juliet interacts more with her parents then Romeo but Lady and Lord Capulet are unaware with what is happening in her life. Lord Capulet is very rude towards Juliet and tries to plan her life for her. Romeo and Juliet are rebellious towards their parents because of their lack of understanding when they are not allowed to act on their love. Their parents do not allow them to be with each other because of their families past. Romeo and Juliet’s parents care for their children but are clueless about their secret marriage and the stress the two teens are going through in order to be with each other.
Romeo and Juliet is a relatable play for modern readers because many teens struggle with depression and thoughts or attempts of suicide. In the play the main characters become critically depressed after Romeo was banished, but both characters turn to suicide instead of getting help. Twenty percent of teens in today's generation have depression but only one in three of those adolescents find help. It is unfortunate
Romeo and Juliet still has a great impact on peoples’ lives. The themes are relevant, Shakespeare had invented a lot of words and phrases, also in Romeo and Juliet, and great for education. These point proves that Romeo and Juliet it relevant today.
“The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, reveals that teens like Romeo and Juliet go through their own phases during life that many teens like them have. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, whose families are rivals end up falling in love, but many problems are pushed their way. Since teens value reward over risk they tend to make decisions that could potentially affect them in the long run. Many teens, like Romeo and Juliet, would prefer the to receive rewards despite the risks.
In fact, seeing Romeo causes Juliet to take his dagger and kill herself. Teens are going through a rough time resulting in impulsive decision
Shakespeare sends a very important message in Romeo and Juliet. It may not have the “happy ending” that most people expect out of a play, but behind the confusing plot twists is a very realistic story. Shakespeare didn’t want to give us a fantasy. He wanted to give us the truth. He wanted to demonstrate the serious danger behind the power of “the teenage crush.”
In teen ages, kids start to date. In seventh grade, they might be dating someone and tell everyone “This is the man of my dreams” but then they break up the next day. That same person might date someone else in eighth grade and say “I want to be with him forever” but then they get to ninth grade she finds someone else she loves ‘more’. Young love is not the best idea because is it really love? In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet prove that young love is fickle and silly. Romeo and Juliet are 16 and 13, they meet and within hours get married, sleep together, and die to be together, all happened within a weekend.
In some instances Shakespeare’s Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is becoming more and more revelant in daily life. Expecially with depression and suicide because of love. For the boys and girls that do not feel the need to read or watch the story will never know Juliet and Romeo’s story and how it could affect their lives. Parents should look back through not only Shakespeare’s books and sonnets, but other classics. In many situations, when teens are expected to read Shakespeare's’ The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, teens think that Shakespeare is pointless, however his stories help parents and officials learn about teen depression, love, and thoughts. Finally, the tragic story of Juliet and Romeo will forever play a part in the lives of teens all thanks to Shakespeare’s wonderful tragedies and
William Shakespeare brought us what some may consider the most well-known romance in history; and it killed both lovers. According to an article posted by Google Sites, contributing factors to teen suicide include “feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, emotional/physical/sexual abuse, and lack of a support network (parents, peers), or feeling of isolation.” While these factors apply to society today, many of them also apply to Romeo and Juliet. Among other factors, hopelessness, emotional abuse, and lack of support apply to the unlikely couple.
Romeo and Juliet is an interesting play, it’s about two teenagers who are in love but can’t be together because one is a Capulet and the other is a Montague and their families do not like each other, Even though both Romeo and Juliet kill themselves, Friar Laurence is the one responsible for Juliet’s death.
