“Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees -- very gradually -- I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye forever.” Edgar Allan Poe is the author of Tell Tale Heart, a horror story with a lot of suspense and many different literary writing techniques infiltrated into the story. One reason why Poe likes to use this literary technique in his writing so much is because it helps build suspense in the story. Since Poe likes to write horrifying and suspenseful stories and he likes to keep people on the edge of their
