The movie “Temple Grandin” tells the story of a young autistic woman who did not let her disability define who she was and despite her disability, she earned a PHD in animal science. When Temple Grandin was born, her parents knew that she was different. Years later, she was diagnosed with autism. While, Temple's doctor recommended a hospital, her mother believed in her. Temple went to school instead. Temple developed an interest in cattle early in life while spending time at her aunts and uncle’s ranch. She did not speak until the age of four and had difficulty through high school, mostly in dealing and socializing with people. She also faced difficulties at college because her classmates made fun of the way she acted. This is often the case for people with autism. People with autism often have difficulties engaging in conversations with people. Temple had the ability to carefully observe and visually process the world around her, which led to her innovations. They can think the way people think and how they aren't that different from normal human beings. Temple knew how to translate the “animal talk,” into English. Therefore, she was able to tell people why their animals are doing the things they did. She thinks that's why she is able to become successful in spite of being autistic. Animal behavior was the right field for her because what she was missing in social understanding she could make up for in understanding animals. Temple says that she owes a lot of this to the fact that her brain works differently. I agree with her because autistic people are very smart and have special talents. In my opinion, she feels that animals saved her because it helped her to cope, understand and interpret her
