Purpose: The purpose of this outline is to act as a guide and accompaniment to the Fetal Fibronectin Power Point as well as an aid for the Case Study learning activity. Objectives: 1. Describe the testing method used to determine the results of the Fetal Fibronectin Cassette. 2. Be aware of the containments that may interfere with the FFN test. 3. Calibrate rapid FFN cassettes when necessary. 4. Identify correct and incorrect specimens and the storage requirements of the specimen. 5. Assess where the different components of the FFN test should be stored (ex. FFN cassette, FFN control kit, etc….). 6. Assess when liquid controls are needed and when daily QC is done. 7. Perform a rapid FFN test when given a valid specimen. 8. Compare and Contrast the two different methods of incubation. 9. Explain how results are obtained by the machine. 10. After reading the outline, viewing the power point presentation and completing the case study. The student should be able to complete the quiz with a 70% mastery or higher. A.
