The devil is always roaming the world to tempt us and to sabotage our faith in God, but God uses multiple test to develop our faith in Him. We as human being must be tested by faith in order for God to trust us with His word. False faith fails in times of us been tested in our trial, but crazy faith helps us to grow and mature in areas to edify God’s Kingdom. This clarifies why God authorized the three “black” Hebrew men who names were, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to be tested by their faith. God also consented for them to be thrown into the fiery furnace for their faith to be developed. In 1 Peter 1:7 says, “These have come so that your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-may be proved genuine and …show more content…
He then commanded that when they heard horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, all men were to fall down to worship it. Any who refused would be cast … into a fiery furnace.” (pg. 1080) This event in Daniel Chapter 3 might occurred twenty years after the advancement of Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego. Nebuchadnezzar dreamed about the image of gold and knew that he was going to command the people to bow down to the golden image that he created. Daniel described that the image of gold meant that Nebuchadnezzar was full of pride. There are many black leaders today that is full of pride. The black leaders feel that because they hold a position over the church, and hear from God, that the church members do not have the knowledge to be on their level. The reason Nebuchadnezzar heart was full of pride because of his occupation, but along with the pride he was fearful. He wanted the people to be loyal to him and not come against him in any kind of way. Black leaders use this concept to train the people to be loyal to them, than to their own God. This kind of behavior causes their faith to lie in deception than serving God. Also in the area of Nebuchadnezzar kingdom was the fiery furnace and if the people did not obey his command they were sentence to be thrown in the fiery furnace. This word does not mean a helper, worker, nor servant it is simple means someone who owns an individual. When I look at the word slave it is describes as an insecure person that is in a dark place and looking for a way out to be free. It is also a cruel, oppressive, and a person that is held hostage from being happy. In I Corinthians 7:21 “Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you-although if you can gain your freedom, do so.” (NIV) This scripture is letting the reader know that every human being on this planet have an opportunity to be free. In order to be free you must be accordance with the Word of God. No person should remain in such a condition that causes them to die mental and physically. Jesus Christ has given man and woman a chance to be free of this world and to be able to be free you must Seek God with all your heart, might and all of your soul. In Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” God will do just that and if the people will be a slave for Christ then all of their bitterness, hate, discomfort, unforgiveness will no longer be a slave to the devil. God is the creator of the universe and He keep His promises to human kind and His Word never failed them. When humankind obey His Word and become His slave they will have a prosperous life, and to be a slave master to Christ, people must trust
In this narrative we meet three women who come from different walks of life. Each one of them has a different religion, but they all have one thing in common. That is that they all have children and want to explain to them about their different religions, especially after the September 11, 2001 attacks as many children had questions and were left perplexed.
My father and uncles’ instilled a statement in my head from a young age that I will never forget. This statement is closely related to the Law of Legacy and very relevant to being a leader in the modern business world. The statement only consists of a few words, but these words are very powerful and if this statement is followed, your reputation as a leader will be respected and hopefully emulated. The statement is, “Lead by example, do what is right, be the best you can be, and treat others the way you would like to be treated.”
Imagine that you’ve been suffering through a time of immense hardship and you are economically disadvantaged. You haven’t eaten in days, you’re home is about to be foreclosed, and you are hopeless about finding employment. You take what little food you have left, scrounge together whatever possessions of yours that have value, and for good measure throw in your first-born son. Taking all of these items, you then light them on fire and utterly destroy them. If this happened today, no doubt would a person be arrested and deemed a risk to himself and others. But for centuries, people carried out these sacrificial rituals, wasting precious resources and time & energy, in hopes that things would get better. Religion is immensely costly both in
Out of all the areas of social justice, I would have to say that faith bias is the one I think about the least. I saw it in an abstract way with the treatment of Islamic religions and the dominance of Christianity, but this project made me understand the bigger picture. Racism, on the other hand, is the area of social justice that is probably most talked about. While it’s a huge issue, it’s a little hard for me to reflect on it since I’ve never experienced racism but I try to educate myself on the issues.
Since before vaccine were barely available to the public, the Catholic Church has taken belief against vaccination being used in public. Controversies in Faith and Healthcare in The Lancet Article – discuss’ instances in which the church has taken contradicting positions to that of the state and the outcomes of the same. In it, they indicate that religion has vehemently opposed the idea of such vaccines based on the notions that they contain some chemicals in them that have the capacity to interfere with the proper functioning of human beings. The matter becomes controversial in the sense that while the state is trying to reduce child mortality through the administration of such vaccines, the church finds a contrary agenda. Their primary concern
It is interesting to note that slave is a favorite self-designation for the apostles and other writers of Scripture. James claims this title for himself in the opening verse of his epistle (Jas 1:1). The same is true for Peter (2 Pet 1:1), Jude (Jude 1:1), and John (Rev 1:1). On top of that, Paul repeats that he is Christ’s doulos throughout his other letters: in Romans, 1 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Colossians, 2 Timothy, and Titus. The term is used at least forty times in the New Testament to refer to the believer, and the Hebrew equivalent is used over 250 times to refer to believers in the Old Testament. We may safely conclude that the Lord wants His people to understand themselves in this way.
In Daniel Ch. 3, King Nebuchadnezzar forces his subject to worship a golden statue, threatening to throw anyone who disobeys in a furnace. King Nebuchadnezzar calls all the officials in the region to come together to worship. A herold is called to tell the people: “Nations and peoples of every language,5* when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, zither, dulcimer, harp, double-flute, and all the other musical instruments, you must fall down and worship the golden statue which King Nebuchadnezzar has set
Slavery, a word described as the state of one bound in servitude as the property of a household. This description, along with sadness and disbelief gets brought into peoples’ minds as the chilling sensation of the explanations begins to be sought out. The New Testament brings us many different views on how we percept our personal beliefs upon Slavery, and different problems arising as aspects on this topic are perceived by Paul the Apostle in Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon.
Some people really believe that God is testing them. They think that both opportunities and obstacles they face are from God. Many people think that God tests their faith in order to show proof of their love for Him.
In the first chapter of "The End of Faith," Sam Harris is calling for reason and evidence over religious myths that survive in the modern world. He writes that it is evident that with the grows of science and knowledge of the universe, religious practices have changed. However, despite these changes there are still parts of "Word of God" that are strictly followed by some groups and individuals. Some of the examples are the "extremists" that take the writings of Koran as the single truth and follow its certain passages and the bloody wars between territories that are ruled by the religious teachings, all despite that the modern world disapproves such actions. Harris points out that most of the world is in denial that such bloodsheds are due
My family has never been very religious. I never attended church regularly, not even on Easter. My Dom and Dad both grew up Baptist. My Dad went to church often while my mom did not. They both maintained similar values even though one went to church more than the other.
Secondly, God’s people may choose to ignore the needs of the world because they fear a less physical and more emotional persecution. A great challenge for Christians is facing rejection from unbelieving family and friends. Unbelievers cannot take the Christian faith seriously because God has not opened their eyes to see what He has revealed to His own. Therefore, those people might not take a Christian seriously and may avoid association with and bad-mouth that child of God. This toys terribly with emotions because these people doing the ridiculing have been so close to the Christian, and it hurts to hear them speak that way. However, problems do not just arise in close relationships but also with unbelieving strangers, especially outspoken
Nebuchadnezzar is widely known through his portrayal in the Bible, especially the Book of Daniel. The Bible discusses events of his reign and his conquest of Jerusalem. Daniel 2 contains an account attributed to the second year of his reign, in which Nebuchadnezzar dreams of a huge image made of various materials (gold, silver, bronze, iron and clay). The prophet Daniel tells him God's interpretation, that it stands for the rise and fall of world powers, starting with Nebuchadnezzar's own as the golden head.
The story starts off when Nebuchadnezzar built a statute of Gold. Then he invited important people from all over the land to come and see the statute that he built. Daniel chapter 3 verse 4 –5 says: Then a herald cried aloud: “To you it is commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, that at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, you shall fall down and worship the gold image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. " king Nebuchadnezzar had asked all the people who came to see the statue to fall down and worship the statue. Meanwhile it is written in the bible that when the Israelites where in the wilderness God gave them the 10 commandments.
Daniel 2:43-49, an excerpt from Daniel’s interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar, shows the power of God’s connection with his children. Daniel, during the explanation of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, depicts a statue with a head made of gold, the chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay (6). Daniel then tells Nebuchadnezzar that he is the head of gold, the silver part of the statue is an inferior kingdom that will replace him, and the bronze part is a third nation that will "rule over the whole earth." As you advance down the statue, the iron kingdom will be one that "crushes and smashes everything." Then the kingdom will be divided, which is symbolized by the clay and iron feet.
