There are quite a lot of characteristics of Loma Linda University that are attractive and meaningful for me. My mom is one of the housekeeping who work at Loma Linda Medical Center. Last year on July 2014, she fell from a ladder while trying to clean the wall and injured herself. The accident was almost fatal, but thanks to the faculty at her work place she was sent immediately to the ER to get treatment. One characteristic I like about Loma Linda is the fact that Loma Linda University cares about others. Despite the fact that my mom did not have insurance or medical at that moment when she was injured, Loma Linda is still willing to give her the treatments that she needed. In addition, although my mom cannot speak much English, the faculties are willing to

Southern Methodist University (SMU) was the first major Methodist institution in the South to enroll African American students. SMU started the process of desegregation a decade before others, namely Duke, Emory, Rice, Tulane, and Vanderbilt. Heman Sweatt, an African American, won a legal case allowing him to attend the University of Texas in November 1950. After Herman’s victory, SMU President Umphrey Lee went to the SMU Board of Trustees to open admissions for African Americans as regular students at Perkins School of Theology (Cashion, 2013). African Americans started attending SMU as regular students in January of 1951. Neither the church nor the city was ready to do what SMU did, and this is what makes the story so fascinating.
My aunt was the first influence in my decision to attend Sam Houston State University. She attended Sam Houston State University when I was a child. I remember going to her graduation, the only person in my family to have graduated from a university, and thinking “I want to do that too!”. I will be the second person in all of my family to graduate from college and I wanted to do so at Sam Houston State University because of the prestigious reputation that stems from the College of Criminal Justice. SHSU is a nationally known university, and the College of Criminal Justice is admired by many. When I finished high school I originally thought I would major in psychology, but as I continued my collegiate career I discovered I was passionate about

The topic I choose this week is the Florida State University (FSU) quarterback punching a woman at a bar. Should he be kicked off the team or allowed to stay into he is proven guilty in a court of law. I personally believe that an individual is innocent into proven guilt. The FSU quarterback is being charged with battery of a woman. Just because there is a video of the unfortunate innocent of the FSU quarterback punching a woman at the bar doesn’t mean he wanted to do it. It could have been done in self-defense. The innocent happen because the woman hit the FSU player first. I think that FSU is jumping the gun by suspending him from the team and taking away his scholarship. If this is going to be the school reaction to student violations
Florida International University (FIU) is a large institution that educates approximately 47,736 students, and provides housing for about 3,600. Although the university provides their students with the education they need in order to pursue their careers, both the university and its students are creating environmental damages along the way. One of these damages are the amount of waste produced. The amount of items thrown away in garages such as: plastic, paper, and organics are a major cause for concern because they are all items that can be prevented from ending up in landfills, but receives minimal attention.
Satisfaction: the best solution is the president should come out in person and address the situation in person and assure students that come from any background that Texas State is safe place for everyone. Create an inclusive and equitable campus climate, develop a diverse community, and support inclusive scholarship and teaching. Yearly training and incentives for faculty and staff.
This project is important, because students can take a class with a particular professor and fail, but when they take the same course with a different professor they can end up acing the course. It is beneficial for students to only take the course once and actually retain the information then paying for the same student to retake the course. This is also beneficial for the reputation of the university. More students will be inclined to take classes knowing that they will retain the information, thus graduating on time. Not only will this increase the graduation rates, but it will also increase interest in the school. Prospective students visit universities looking for the one that is the best fit for them. If a student knows that their educational needs will be met at Millersville University, the number of applicants may increase.
