Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” My education in the Pharmacology could and can help out with the future of medicine. But first I would have to attend college to further my knowledge in the pharmaceutical field. University of Texas, habited by the Longhorns, is ranked number one as a top public university in the U.S. and will help further my career goals. Although, getting into the University of Texas is difficult and will come as a challenge, I believe it will be a small obstacle to overcome. The application fee is just a start of $75 along with getting books for each class that can range from $700 - $1,200 depending on if you’re accepted. Meanwhile, tuition and fees add up to over $9,830. The cost of attendance for in-state students is about $26,346. Lastly on campus living can add up to around $11,456 on average plus meals and parking, $4,310. Hopefully if I do get into the University of Texas I’ll have taken pharmacology my senior year of high school and be able to get a job as a pharmacist tech while attending college. That will be a good job to help me support myself through and during college. Then after I earn my degree in pharmacology and move on to see what great opportunities approach me and offer the best options for my future. My long-range goals include working somewhere enjoyable and being able to love to go to my job while also being able to support my family. Also, to still be able to grow and learn with the people I work with and getting close to my co-workers. Finally the salaries of pharmacists who get at least a bachelor’s can range up to about $100,000 a year. The University of Texas would be the best college to further my education at a college that my whole family loves. It’ll also help teach me hands on and in a way that benefits me.
