Prairie view A&M university was founded in the year 1876. Prairie view was the first supported college in Texas for African Americans. It was founded as part of the post-civil war effort to restructure education in the state of Texas.

Citrus College is located in the city of Glendora, a small town located in the San Gabriel Valley, with its slogan boasting “Pride of the Foothills.” Known for its middle/upper class housing, good schools and family programs. Also the city’s religion is mainly Mormon and other Christian denominations.

At the time that this initial lawsuit was filed, the University of Texas at Austin accepted students in the top 10% of each Texas high school’s graduating class. According to Wermiel. these student were accepted regardless of their race; under Texas House Bill 588. Campus employment is offered to you if you don’t feel like getting a job off campus, it comes in handy. Also dorm life can be your focus too. The great thing about A&M is that it's not to hard to get into. Applicants in the top 10% of Texas high schools-class (with completed application) as specified by state law get an automatic admission. It is very important to have academic GPA, class rank, extracurricular activities, rigor of secondary school record, standardized test scores, and talent/ability. My college is southern methodist university in Dallas, TX which is 181 miles from home. Southern methodist university is 234 ares wide and has approximately 11,739 student enrolled there.They are ranked on of the nation's most prestigious institutions of higher education. They were founded in 1911 by the Methodist Episcopal church.

The University of Texas - Pan American has been in operation since 1927, when it opened its doors with an inaugural class of just 20 students. Over the next 90 years, the university grew to become the tenth-largest public institution in the state of Texas, hosting more than 20,000 students who study fields like biology, business, and computer science at the school 's Edinburg campus. The tremendous growth of this institution has seen it transition from the smallest public school in the state to one of its major research institutions. It is also one of a handful of schools to serve students at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, rounding out a full commitment to higher education among its Rio Grande communities. Last but not least, Texas A&M has a really great cost and financial aid program for students. The In-state tuition and fees were about 10,176 dollars while out-of-state tuition and fees were about 28,768 dollars. If I was an In-state student, this would have been a great opportunity not only because of the students life and academics but also because of the tuition fees. However since I am not an In-state student, the cost is pretty expensive.

Texas A&M University-Central Texas is active outside of Killeen Texas through its Study Abroad program. According to Ms. Wood, Assistant Director of Academic Support for the Office of Student Success at Texas A&M University-Central Texas (2016), TAMU-CT has participated in three Study Abroad trips since Ireland in 2014. She stated that TAMU-CT averages 15 Students per year for each trip. The Study Abroad trips are open to all students at TAMU-CT as elective classes. Students approved will sit down with a financial aid advisor for advisement on funding for the trip. Wood also stated that TAMU-CT has faculty that travel overseas for their research and speeches.
