Have you ever thought of how Thanksgiving is set up? Or even why it is here? I love the thought of being thankful. Considering teenagers these days are something else! I would tell myself this; family isn’t defined by last names or by blood. I defined by commitment and by love. It means showing up when they need it the most. Love also means having each other's backs. Additionally, it means over and above, choosing to love each other. Even when those days you struggle like no other. Furthermore, it means never giving up on someone who loves you the most! You should be grateful for them. Don’t shove them aside. Altogether, Thanksgiving means to cherish one another, and be thankful that every single day there are present in your life! To me, teens are not even realizing this! Thanksgiving is important!
With all of the different opinions, how can a single person write a speech that is respected among a majority and for years to come? Now, are these speeches actually as amazing as history has made them seem or has no one challenged popular opinion? The speech, "Every Man a King", written by Huey Long has been categorized as one of the greatest speeches in history. Every Man a King uses writing techniques such as persuasion, rhetoric, and syllogisms to convey the message of spreading wealth.

Intro: In 1789, President George Washington offered the first Presidential Thanksgiving Proclamation for the newly formed United States of America. VI. When I was born he taught me to be the strongest person I could be and to do my absolute best at everything I try.
Many times in my life, I have received many lessons from my father. My father is a special man, he's nurtured me, cared for me in a way no man will ever get to do. My dad is someone who I can always say has been there for me, and i couldn't ever imagine life without him. Yet, there is one thing i can't ever forget. He's an alcoholic. My "dad" was never there, the alcohol was. There were times when i just couldn't believe to smell the alcohol on his breath. My whole life, my dad was in the Navy, so we moved around a lot. We never really had a home until i was around 7 years old, so through that time we struggled to have a real family due to us living out of boxes. When we bought our home in Harbor Ridge, things changed. My dad was really there, he went to my sporting events, he was home for dinner, and he was even there to tuck me into bed
In Mexico, Dia de los Muertos is a celebration to honor the dead. This holiday was made for people struggle with losing loved ones, and celebrating it was found to be a good way to help them cope. Families can be seen in the cemetery bringing festive gifts to memorialize lost members.
I hope the week is treating you well and you enjoyed your Memorial Day holiday. Attached is the May 2016 Digital Reports which we will review in greater detail on our weekly call Monday morning.
I noticed you sent an announcement out about seeing our grade as of Friday in the handout section, but when I try and click on that section there is no link for it. Also, from what I can recall, on the quizzes, and Rocketmix I am not doing well in your class and would like any and all suggestions you have for me. I'm feeling upset with myself as I've been doing well in all of my classes since attending the CSUDH I'm on track to graduate Summa Cum Laude. I have had many struggles in the past with school and getting my first Associates degree and I believe being a first generation college student did not help matter but now 10 years have past since my first degree and I've learned to be a better college student since then and going into
Halloween. A holiday of spooky, scary, skeletons and a bunch of memes. It’s basically a holiday where you can go outside in cosplay and get free candy for it, provided that you aren’t busy to the point where you go home at about 6:00 PM and have to last-minute cancel your plans because of homework. (I’m still salty about that.) Regardless, Halloween has made its way to be one of my most favourite holidays. Now, I know what you may be thinking. “But Joyce! What about Christmas? It was literally about a month ago!” And, yes, while I do enjoy Christmas, Halloween is a holiday more after my heart.
So to every parent who dreams for their child, and every child who dreams for their future, I say these words to you tonight:
I think they are: freedom of religion, the 2nt amendment and the freedom of speech.
Thank you for joining us today as the City of Mobile participates in the Race for the Cure Walk in celebration of October Cancer Awareness Month. This is a special occasion for many reasons but the most significant is that we have chosen as a community to make a difference and to show our own ability to be heroes. People define heroism in so many individualized ways and the world is full of heroes that make a significant impact and have admirable traits of all kinds. Our own designated heroes affect our mindset and influence our thoughts and our actions. It is powerful and influential. To me, a true hero changes the world and provides hope and peace in the most difficult situations.
“A man is loved not for how tall he stands, but for how often he bends to help, comfort, and teach.” (Anonymous) This is quote sits on my dad’s nightstand in a brown, oak frame. It pictures a little boy and his dad kneeling to help tie his son’s shoes. I remember when my dad knelt to help me also tie my shoes, but through the years my dad has fulfilled this quote. He has helped me, comforted me, and taught me. That is why today I would like to tell you about his impact on my values, faith, work ethic, and goal setting.
