The 21st Century

History since the end of the Civil War to the end of the 20th century has changed drastically when you asses America on an economic, social, and political level. The changes between the end of the 19th century and the end of the 20th century are the cause in the way America has been shaped and how American’s think. In fact, industrialization and urbanization, equal rights for all citizens, and two world wars played a major role in the shape of America to our understanding. Although, there are numerous events that have shaped the country since the end of slavery throughout the United States, there are several that are viewed as signs of great change, such as the Reconstruction Era, the Industrialization Era, World War I and World War II, the Great Depression Era, and the Civil Rights Movement Era. Though, these descriptions only scratch the surface of the greater changes, they can be well-defined as events that created America today.

“In the early twentieth century, science continued to shift its purpose from the pursuit of abstract knowledge to the pursuit of practical technologies; first came the telegraph, then phonograph, the telephone, the camera, and the light bulb, to name just a few of those technologies we now cannot imagine living without”(Shea 599). In today’s world, technology can become found anywhere and everywhere. In the last twenty years technology has changed the way that people work, live, and communicate. The incredible form of technology remains a major part in our society today. Technology remains very important in humankind’s growth because at any stage of its development technology has made life easier and has opened several doors of opportunities for us that remained unthinkable before.

By and large, it is of little debate in today’s sophisticated world that technology is of paramount importance. This is inasmuch as people always tend to find a more convenient solution to address their problems. With this in mind, it is quite expected to notice some of its characteristics are somewhat controversial due to its prominent standing; a substantial number of people wonder what role technology has on human’s life. One idea of prominence in this regard is that the more the people rely on technologies, the more they will lose their thinking ability. I personally agree with the statement to some extent. The rationale behind this thesis will be elaborated in the ensuing lines.

Technology is an essential part of our life. The use of technology can be seen in almost every aspect of our daily routines. Despite some people’s belief that technology is progressively destroying humanity, it is evident that technology’s advancements have greatly benefited humankind due to its contributions to improving education, health, and communication.

Yet and still, technology has given us many advances over the years. From the typewriter to the printing press, technological advances have made life easier and convenient. Without a doubt, we live in a world where technology is taking over our existence. The advancements of these incredibly sophisticated machines have recreated a world where these machines carry the workload in all aspects. People from all over the world rely on these machines on a daily basis for the fact that they are efficient and innovative in every possible aspect. A vast percentage of the population questions whether these machines are destroying humanity, but in the long run, technology and its advancements are worth it.

“The 21st Century” we approach in an accelerated way to the new millennium, some changes are already visual and some others we don’t even imagine what they are. We all have to be prepare for those changes full of opportunities but of uncertainties as well. Many changes in technology, and communications just to mention a few. The whole environment will be very different, the big challenge will be to prepare and learn to live in this new environment due to the fact that not all of us are prepare for the big step.

It has altered how we live, communicate, work and play. Although the benefits of technology are vast some are unfavorable, but none the less the advantages are worth it. Today’s technology is growing at an accelerated rate, if this continues it can either help or hinder our society. Technology has given us so many opportunities

Our world has undergone two stages of technical revolution which made our community develop rapidly. Entering the third millennium, we’re living in a modern society which is significant development in ICT. Technology has become an essential factor that has created a great revolution on all aspects of our lives such as education, medical, economy, politics, etc.…and connects us together. Technology has made our lives easier which results in the changing of other sides in our society. The technology plays an important role which is clearly shown in the achievements of many countries in the world. However, technology also consist drawbacks and has negatively effects on all fields in our society which people do not realize.

Throughout the history of the Earth, technology has influenced everyone immensely. For countless centuries, technology has laid by people’s side, aiding them whenever assistance is needed. Anytime and anywhere we look, technology is helping us fulfill our duties. Because humans have the power of technology in their hands, mankind has evolved significantly over the years. Without a doubt, technology is an aspect of the world that is improving society. Technology has benefited people in myriads of ways such as assisting people in difficult or risky jobs, serving as a useful teaching tool, and helping people maintain good health. As technology evolves, people are bound to have better lives.

Based on recent developments, without technology, human life would not have been the usual walk in the park that is currently being realized globally. Modern technology makes life more convenient now more than ever. Modern technologies like broadband internet makes it possible to access relevant information at any time anywhere. Today’s technology makes it simple for students to learn from anywhere through online education and mobile education, which improves the education system. It also improves the health system, most hospitals have implemented modern technology in surgical rooms, which may reduce the number of mistakes made by doctors. Modern technology’s more convenient than when it was simpler because, it provides an easy way to access information, improves the education system, and it improves the health system.

The evolution of technology has changed society in both positive and negative ways. People all over the world use and benefit from modern technology. Technology has simplified the access to many tools people need in education, medicine, communication, transportation, etc. However, using it too often has its drawbacks as well. In most cases, the time of finishing projects is cut by more than half with the help of technology. Many people do not realize that technology has its negative affects society as well, and its rapid advances has changed life for worse in a number of different ways.

In today’s society, modern technology is evidently developing rapidly and it is portrayed as a negative impact. It can be seen that technology is a substitution of all characteristics of life. The purpose of every technological invention is to benefit the lives of mankind; thus re-enforcing the positive connotation of technology. However, in long term it may not be beneficial; such as, education, work and leisure are all becoming dependent on technology; cyberspace is dangerous and child obesity is increasing.
