The 9/11 memorial and museum in New York City, is one of the most brilliant, exquisite, and complicated memorials ever made. Even though the memorial sets out to commemorate the awful event that affected not only the people killed in the event but also all their friends and family members that were affected, the memorial does a great job to achieve that goal, but even still there is still some controversies surrounding the memorial. The Most prevalent controversy is with the names on the walls around the memorial. The name of one of the people killed in the event was not included due to his name and his nationality.
The 9/11 memorial commemorates the tragedy that happened on September 11, 2001 in New York City when 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group Al-Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and decided to carry out a terrorist mission on major targets in the United States. Two planes were flown into the towers of the world trade center, the third plane was flown into the pentagon and the fourth never made it to its target and ended up crashing in a field in Pennsylvania.
The 9/11 memorials is one of the most complicated memorials. The memorial consists of reflecting pools at the bases of the elderly buildings they are intended to represent the loss of life & the physical void left by the terrorist assaults. The sound of the water falling is meant to drown out the sounds of the city, making the site a contemplative sanctuary. Sketched in to the stonewalls of the
This memorial is a tribute to 9-11 by showing the younger generations, who weren't around or too young to remember, all about the terrorist attacks on 9-11. By displaying things found in the rubble at the Ground Zero Museum it shows a walk-through of what happened on that day. From the Ground Zero Cross to the names etched around the pools where the towers once stood, it's a remembrance striving to make sure we never forget what happened on the horrible

Even after all these years its seen how everyone is

The 9/11 memorial, on the site of twin towers tragedy is a greatly build memorial. My visit there 2 weeks ago was heart warming experience. The memorial was one of the most beautiful tributes t had ever seen. The water splashing against your skin brings a sense of peacefulness and somberness. It will always remain ground zero in my mind.
A lot of people did not believe what the government’s story about the attacks. The government claimed that it was true but some people still did not believe them. Other people believed them and respected all the people who died. In between the two waterfalls is a Museum and it has pictures and more facts about all the attacks on the day. It also has some remains and other things that other people had in the museum and it honors people who lived and died. People who risked their life they either survived or did not survive. Many people died on September, 11 2000 and these memorials honor these people that will never be
Many people can look back and remember September 9th, 2001, like it was yesterday. This day will be forever remembered in America’s History. This is the day the world seemed as it stood still. On 9/11, America experienced a major terrorist attack, which hijacked planes were crashed into the World Trade Centers in New York City, crashed into the Pentagon in the District of Columbia, and had a plane crash into the fields of Pennsylvania.
The 9/11 Memorial has about 300,000 people visit it each year, you should be one of them to. If you go to New York the 9/11 Memorial is becoming one of the top tourist attractions in the city, and I can’t see why it's not at the top already. The 9/11 Memorial is a beautiful pool with gushing water running down its sides, and within the pool there is a smaller square pool that still has water running down to it. Just to top it off, it has trees that surround the pools, just imagine it when it’s in the fall and all the leaves turn colors and the leaves may float down and into the pool. The best part about visiting the 9/11 Memorial is that it is free! You should be one of the 300,000 a year.
New York: 9/11 Memorial and Museum: This memorial and museum of 9/11 was my favorite site in New York and it also taught me a few life lessons. When you first walk up to the sight there are these two breathtaking fountains in the shape of the square buildings that use to stand straight up. Then around the squared fountains the names of all the victims are written. Just by looking at the fountains it taught me the first lesson, to never take life for granted no matter the situation. Realizing that the victims arose that morning not realizing that it would be their last morning getting out of bed, it disturbs and rattles you a bit. When I sat back and just watched the water flow in the middle of the fountain, it truly hit me that these were all
The 9/11 Memorial is one of the biggest man-made waterfalls in North America. The 9/11 looks like a square pool with another pool but smaller with water running down the walls, to make it a waterfall. There are two pools that look identical that are in the same spot where the towers were. The twin towers, and the memorial are in New York City. The walls of the pools are made out of black granite. Each pool is about an acre in size and holds up to 480,000 of recycled water. 9/11 Memorial is not only a beautiful pool itself but is also surrounded by trees.
Though both photographs have a lot to say, a viewer my not know why the memorial means so much to the individual in the image. Looking at the photograph one can begin to draw conclusions, but the story behind each picture truly has more meaning than imaginable. The photograph, A Man Kneels before the 9/11 Memorial, displays a man named Robert Peraza, who is touching the name of his son upon the 9/11 memorial. His son, Robert David Peraza, passed during the 9/11 attacks after American Airlines flight 11 struck the North Tower. Ten years later and the grief still takes over Peraza; he touched his son's name and lowered his head while falling to his knees. Bearing a shirt with his son on the front, Mr.
On September 11, 2001, an event known as 9/11 occurred. An Islamic extremist group, Al-Qaeda, hijacked four planes to carry out suicide missions against several targets in the United States. They attacked the World. Trade Center in New York City with two planes, The Pentagon near Washington DC, and the other crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. The attacks are significant to US history because it alerted the country to the vulnerability of our way of life, and to the anger, bitterness and. resentment toward the U.S. by other countries in the world, especially in parts of the Islamic world.
So It was a sad moment for the people that lost their lives that day the day of September 9,2001 or a shorter word 9/11. The people that hit the two Twin Towers and the Pentagon and one was going for the White House but there was a fight in the plane that was going to the White House. But the plane was crashing in a field at Pennsylvania. So, every year at 9/11 they will have a memory for the people that died that day from the two Twin Towers. So, if you will try to go too see the twin towers they are not there because of the 9/11 they did not try to rebuild it so they just put water in the outside and there is trees too. So if you try to go there in the night you will see the light in the middle where it was.
On September 11, 2001 after the twin towers had fallen, our U.S. flag had somehow survived within the rumble, and the flag was raised back up by firefighters to give reassurance of our recovery. It is explained by Guerra how a photographer, by the name of Franklin, had taken a picture of this moment because he saw that it was going to be a “‘ photo with the most meaning’” since there were “‘three men raising a flag paled in comparison to thousands of people dying and two buildings falling to the ground.’” This picture was spread throughout the country, and as a result, it was soon noticed that the flag that was standing was different than the one from the photograph. Not too long after this was noticed, Guerra mentions how “a man who introduced himself as Brian went to a fire station in Everett carrying a flag in a plastic bag,” which ultimately was the authentic flag (that he had supposedly received from a widow of a 9/11 victim).
9/11 plays a big role in American history. It commemorates a date for those affected by this traumatic event. Many can still remember the day, just as if it was yesterday – what they were doing and where they were. The vast majority of our sophomore class had not even been born, or old enough to recall this event. This date in American history unified us as a country.
The 911 memorial has many gorgeous features. the memorial takes up 8 of the 16 acres of the memorial and museum. The actual memorial is 2 waterfall pools, each equaling 1 acre in size. Engraved into the pools are each and every single name of the people who died in all of the terrorist attacks on September 19, 2001. Surrounding the plaza is 400 trees, in all different shapes and sizes. The plaza, because of all of the trees surrounding the monument, is the most eco-friendly environment in the world, because of the beautiful design, the memorial is very touching.
