Animal testing is a common practice in current life that is necessary to ensure the safety of the humans that will be using the tested product. There are many good and bad aspects of animal testing, but the pros clearly outweigh the cons. Animal testing has been around since ancient times when animals were dissected to gain knowledge about the body and organs. The animals killed from animal testing make up a tiny percentage of the total animals killed every year. When just considering the animals used for food compared to the animals used for testing, testing animals make up a mere 2.6 percent of that number. Public safety far outweighs the lives of the small amount of animals killed.
There are so many products being tested on animals , from being lipsticks, shampoos, makeup, skin care etc. But have you ever wondered the side effects these animals experience while using these products? They will experience Burning, torturing, pain, hunger, thirst etc. How is living in a cage living? It's not it is just surviving.
Many of us are unaware of the sheer number of animals that undergo constant suffering in the name of human vanity. Animal testing was originally introduced in the early 20th century and is still prominent today. It is morally unacceptable to experiment on animals for human purposes. The procedures used in animal testing are cruel and inhumane, nor are they the most reliable source of data; resulting in many mishaps. Moreover, with the perpetual advancements in technology, there are several alternative methods making animal testing unnecessary. If testing cosmetics and drugs on humans is unacceptable, what makes it acceptable to test on animals?
Although many people agree with testing products on animals, they ask ‘Who else are we going to test our products on?’ Nobody! Don’t add harsh chemicals in the products and then the animals and humans are both healthier. Beyond millions of animals that die and are captured every year just from animal testing alone. Treating an animal cruelty is never okay, especially when they’re torturing the animals with harsh chemicals due to testing. If people would stand up and try to protect animals we’d be saving certain animals from becoming extinct and we’d also save a ton of money.
Animal testing takes thousands of animals lives each day. It should stop because so many animals are suffering and in pain. But, animal testing labs are also beneficial when they test on animals similar to humans. Animal testing is bad because the labs have small spaces and cages, the testing is painful, and it does not benefit humans medically.
Animal testing can be good and bad all at the same time. The bad part about it is that they have to hurt our economy by testing on so many animals. And they can really hurt our animals. The bad part about animal tests can hurt our economy and they can kill lots of animals.
Animal testing is bad because it is cruel and inhumane, animals are different from humans, it’s wasteful animal testing, the welfare act is being violated, and it’s a waste of government money. Why are we allowing animals to be tested on if it’s cruel, wasteful, and is irrelevant? What purpose if there for animal testing? There are other ways to experiment tests meant for humans, according (Save the Animals: Stop Animal Testing), a well-known cosmetics and bath-product company based in London, develop their products that "use natural ingredients, like bananas and Basil nut oil, that are safe to humans, that are established as healthy. It’s a better way to create products than
Every year more than 100 million animals die in United States laboratories due to animal experimentation (PETA). Animal testing first began in the fifth century BC when Greek Philosopher Alcmaeon of Croton conducted a vivisection, cutting or operating on a live animal for scientific purpose, of a dog’s eye to learn what causes blindness (“Animal Experimentation”). Animal testing and experimentation has been frequent in society since then; however, the experiments have become controversial. In the early seventeenth century, scientist began working on the animals that had died so there would be no harm caused to them; unfortunately, the physical processes in these animals had stopped and the experiments were unreliable so they returned to the practice of vivisection.
According to an article by Buzzle, across the globe, new products ranging from drugs for cancer, diabetes, and heart diseases to cosmetic products such as soaps, shampoos, etc., are tested on animals. Even though innocent animals are being used and tested, animal testing should continue because animal testing aids in finding cures for illnesses, not only do humans benefit from animal testing, but animals as well, and even though millions of dollars are being wasted and put into animal testing, the money is used for a good cause. First of all, animal testing has elevated the level of cures for illnesses. For example, animal testing helped make vaccines for countless diseases such as herpes simplex, hepatitis B, polio, rabies, malaria,
Scientists should be allowed to test on animals with no restrictions because oddly enough it benefits animals more than it benefits humans. Even though it doesn’t seem like that would be true, it very much is. One of the best examples of how animal testing helped other animals was when scientists got together to do lab tests on animals and they ended up finding out how to stop rabies. Rabies is a terrible disease that animals normally get. The symptoms are foaming of the mouth, madness, convulsions, muscle aches, and it can be transmitted through to humans through a bite. Although this mainly affects animals and rarely humans the testing on the animals that found the vaccination was very good either way because if an animal has rabies and is
Animals have been used for scientific testing since the ages of Aristotle and Erasistratus. Should we continue using animals as our test subjects, or is it time for a change? Many argue over whether testing on animals is good or bad, this debate has been continuous because it has both positive and negative affects. Animal testing has been the cause of many scientific breakthroughs, but, these are overthrown by the negative impact that animal testing not only has on its test subjects, but it’s deceptive information and waste of resources. The elimination of animal testing will enhance information accuracy, cut down on wasted resources, and improve the lives and living conditions of many.
Did you know that animal testing facilities not only test on animals, but they abuse the animals if they don't behave? The animals are abused emotionally and physically. The animals don't get any love and they get hit to top it all off. Animals should not be used for scientific resources because a lot of the tests put animals in danger, the test can grow from danger of death, and animals have rights just as you and I have rights, and give them a voice.
Stated by Mahatma Gandhi, “The greatness of the nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated”. Medical research on animals is an effective way for scientist to test different medical discoveries and experiment before using them on humans to check their result. This technique has been used for centuries dating back to people such and Aristotle and Erasistratus. What exactly is medical research on animals? When we take a deeper look into the experiment that are preformed we can conclude that animals are a living model of humans in these laboratories. It is a necessity to harm and test animals with new drugs in order to market them in the medical industry to aid human illnesses. In order to better comprehend and regulate drugs one must understand what medical research on animals is described as and its benefits to pharmaceutical companies for humans. Exposure to the trials and tribulations that animal testing reveals how important it is for scientists to understand the negative effects they contribute to an animal’s welfare and life. In contrary animal testing has been used to save many human lives from consuming or using a drug that could have caused them life threatening illnesses.
“Each year, more than 100 million animals including mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, hamster’s guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds are killed each year in U.S. laborites for biology lessons, medical training and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetic testing’ (PETA). Animals are suffering and when scientist got asked why animals they said because there like us but just because there mammals doesn’t mean there like us, were already hurting them enough by building on their environment and if there like us why can’t they get equality.
While it may seem that animal testing is helpful, in reality, animal testing is bad for many reasons. The main reasons of why animal testing is bad is because the tests are unreliable, it's harmful to the animals, and it also wastes time and money.”Animals are not here for us to do as we please with. We are not their superiors, we are their equals. We are their famil. be kind to them.”-Ricky
