The American Dream Is A Reality

To me the American Dream is far-fetched. It's a notation put in peoples’ mind that an individual can achieve anything someone he or she sets his or her mind to do. Call me a pessimist, but “The American Dream” is overrated. When I was little, I aspired to be a princess who lived in a castle with a handsome prince and live happily ever after; I aspired to be this until I was 13. Obviously, I let my dream get the best of me (you will never see me letting my preteen daughter make a fool of herself). I was upset I couldn't be what I wanted to be. There is a huge difference between imagination and dreams.

America’s present day justice system consists of a trial by jury; therefore, making it a democracy. A democracy is a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. Having a trial by jury gives the person who is on trial a fair chance to remain innocent. However, this was not the case during the time of Hawthorne. During Hawthorne’s lifetime, the Puritans had developed their own justice system. The Puritans justice system was theocratic. A theocracy is a system of government in which priests rule in the name of God or a god.

Although there is no one set dream for everyone, it has still changed over the basis that through time technology has influenced many ideas and ways of thinking. Including the thoughts of the American dream whereas the material goods people think of in their dreams have changed with what’s around today. As seen on social media or online, no two web pages or posts have the same dream. “Personal freedom and having basic needs met top the list.”(cole), this post sees it as individual freedom, while some others may see it as materialistic goods. Everyone has their own ideas and concepts of “The American Dream” however; it is not so easy to actually achieve and attain it. Many factors play into what it takes to maintain “The American Dream” such as where a person comes from or how they were raised. Not everyone is capable of actually achieving their own dream but it doesn't stop them from having it set as a goal to reach. Many obstacles stand in the way such as growing up in an unequal society, not working towards the set goal, and not having a quality education.

Dream of the American Dream Is the American Dream only a dream or can it ever be achieved? In the United States, the basic motto is to attend the American Dream. It is the ideal that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work; determination, and initiative. American Dream basically means success in life with a nice house, a job, knowledge and especially pursuit of happiness.

The American Dream is a goal that is specific to and can only be achieved in America. A dream is defined as a goal, hope, and/or plan for the future. In this case, this dream is only available for people living in the United States of America. In America, there are more jobs, a good education system, and the country is safer than most. Also, America says to have equal rights for women which is not always the case in other countries. All of these things attract people who do not have access to them which makes America a very desirable place. The American Dream is different for everyone and changes over time. Generation after generation, the American Dream has evolved into what it is today.

This historical investigation will be focusing on answering the question, “How were young boys in Nazi Germany prepared to become soldiers during the Second World War?” Although the Hitler Youth played an extensive role in preparing boys mentally and physically for fighting, the role of education and propaganda directed towards boy’s preparation to become soldiers will also be analyzed. This investigation will focus on the years 1920 to 1945 in between which the Hitler Youth was created and World War II ended.

A recent study shows that more than half of Canadians do not believe that the American Dream is existent. Fifty-eight percent agreed that “the American Dream has become impossible for most people to achieve.” Canadians have reached this verdict for a very simple reason: It’s true. Obtaining a living wage, retirement security, and the opportunity for one 's children to receive a post-secondary education are now nearly impossible. And it is only getting worse.
