America has seen many terrorist attacks throughout the world and at home. Seeing them around the world may have hurt, but not as bad as seeing it in your own backyard, when you and your neighbors are being targeted. By definition Terrorism is usually a small group who kills suddenly or secretively. Many terrorist attacks are the attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on the attack of September 11,2001, the Oklahoma City bombing, the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing, the Wall Street bombing and, the U.S.S. Cole bombings are some of the worst terrorist attacks to happen on U.S. soil. The attack on the Word Trade Center and the Pentagon, by three out of four passenger planes that were hijacked by terrorists. This was a suicide mission.…show more content…
Al-Qaeda’s leader was Osama Bin Laden, who trains men from other countries to go to certain places to become trained in tactics of terror, then get sent home to create chaos. The aftermath of the attack was outrageous. This attack took 3,000 American and international citizens. It also left America in devastation. The attack on September 11, 2001 was and still is the worst attack on U.S. soil. The Oklahoma City bombing was known as the worst Terrorist attack on U.S. soil, until 9/11. The Oklahoma City bombing occurred on April 19, 1995 at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal building. The blast was set off by anti-government extremist named Timothy McVeigh who was executed in 2001 for his crimes(Oklahoma City bombing). The other man,or co- conspirator, was Terry Nichols and he received life in prison. The Alfred P. Murrah Federal building, was used for the offices of social security, the U.S. secret service, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. And also had recruiting offices for Army and the Marine Corps. This bombing left 168 people dead, 19 of which were children(Homegrown Terror 6), and injured hundreds more. The Oklahoma City bombing left America in sorrow for every precious life that was taken during this very unfortunate event.
