UConnections Report For my report I chose the connection of love in hardship. I chose this connection because I believe it is important to love and care for people even when it feels like you can't or that you shouldn’t. It is important to do so because loving and being loved back gives you this strength that can help you overcome your struggles and hard times. The three texts and a movie that I chose to do were, The B .6ook Thief written by Markus Zusak, The Fault In Our Stars, by John Green, the movie If I stay which was directed by R.J Cutler and lasty Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. These three texts and one movie show my connection of love in hardship effectively. My first text was The Book Thief, written by Markus Zusak. …show more content…
This connection is shown through the relationship of Romeo and Juliet and the feuding between both their families. Romeo and Juliet meet and instantly fall in love and become deep and compassionate lovers and the rivalry between their families puts a strain on their relationship because the families didn’t approve of them being together. This shows us how hard it was for Romeo and Juliet to see each other and this difficulty drove them to get married so they could always be with each other. The idea of teenage love is very clear in this text because it shows how hard they have fallen for each other and the first time you are in love it gives a powerful and intense feeling and all you want to do is be with them. Friar Laurence tells Romeo and Juliet that “These violent delights have violent ends…” This quote shows that the delights of being in love don’t always have a happy ending and that if you rush into love not knowing if you truly love each other it can ending badly.I believe this quote helps me understand that sometimes you have to wait and be patient because of the pain that could be caused through rushing. Romeo and Juliet felt so deeply for each other and knew they would do anything to be with one another and they took risks like starting war to be together. This shows just how strong their love was. I believe Williams Shakespeare's purpose was to promote the fact that you can't help who you love and that your first love is a very special one. Even though they did die, the relationship between Romeo and Juliet has helped me understand of how difficult love is and especially how hard it is when you are forbidden to be together. I believe that your second love is just as good as your first because they taught you that you can love again after losing such an important person in your
If you have ever fallen in love then you must know what Romeo and Juliet felt, right? Well according to the definition of true love your do not relate to Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet come from similar families that are mortal enemies, but despite that, they fall in love for each other. Romeo went from loving Rosaline to Juliet very quickly and Juliet was already going to marry Paris. True affection involves: your sense of self has grown through knowing this person, You’re addicted to the person, you celebrate this person’s triumphs, you really miss this person when you are apart. Romeo and Juliet may have thought they were in love, but falling in love with someone cannot happen in an instant.

There are many books that will teach you important lessons. In The Book Thief by Markus Zusak there are many lessons to be learned. Some of the lessons that the book teaches is that courage is the key to achieve anything, fear can be distracted, and Death’s kindness. These lessons are important to learn.
Romeo and Juliet are both in their teenage years. Just like teenagers in other cultures, they are impulsive and have high hormones due to human nature. Romeo has proven that he experiences these things through his past love for Rosaline and how upset he got over her. Juliet has also shown these things while on the balcony expressing her love for Romeo. Their teenage side effects play into the quickness and extremity of their love through marriage and suicide at such a young age. Due to their impulsivity, they didn’t think ahead they just thought about what they were currently in need of and wanting.
Love is a powerful force that bonds people together through anything and everything. Love will make people do anything for the ones they love and sometimes can’t see the bigger picture. In Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, two young lovers in “fair Verona” from rival families come together in love. They instantly fall in love as soon as they lay eyes on each other and have to marry each other after only knowing each other for twelve hours. Romeo and Juliet have no idea what is to come due to their actions. Young love often results in a selfish isolation from the rest of the world which causes impulsive decisions that bring unintended consequences.
Love inflicts a diverse combination of emotions that will often change a person’s relationship with others. One of Shakespeare’s most notable plays, the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a tale about the forbidden love of two young lovers who were the sole children of two long-feuding families of Capulet and Montague in Verona, Italy. The feud between their families, their love and marriage forces a teenaged, impetuous Romeo, and thirteen-year-old Juliet Capulet whose actions are driven primarily by her emotions to grow up in a course of four days. Throughout the course of the four days, Juliet’s loyalty to her family gradually wanes until she is fully loyal to Romeo as her husband. Juliet holds an eros love for Romeo which causes them to act out of impulse.
Love, in 'Romeo and Juliet' has its own importance in the theme of inner struggle between the two protagonists, Romeo and Juliet. Juliet is torn between staying loyal to her family and therefore obeying her parents to marry Paris or staying married to an enemy, Romeo, “My husband lives, that Tybalt has slain; / And Tybalt's dad, that would have slain my husband: / All this is comfort; wherefore weep I then?” (3:2). On the other hand, Romeo has his struggles too. He juggles between the idea of banishment from Verona and not being able to see his beloved Juliet again and that of death, “Ha, banishment? Be merciful, say 'death'.” (3:3). The secret marriage between Romeo and Juliet is also one of the outcomes due to love. It is because of love that Juliet risked her parents' disapproval to not marry Paris and Romeo risked the danger of being killed by Capulet's kinsmen to go to see her. Yet again, this shows the inner struggle of Romeo and Juliet.

In Romeo and Juliet, love is depicted in several ways. Both Luhrman and Shakespeare represent love in different ways in different contexts to both the Elizabethan era and the contemporary audience. Both the original and later manifestations of the text are valued because they both communicate to the audience on the values of love and society by employing a variety of devices.
Imagine a dark, crowded place full of despair where you are almost always undergoing forced labor, waiting to die, with no way out. This is the experience Elie Wiesel wrote about in his famous book, Night. I have doubts that most people in the world could even begin to express all the pain that must bring them. But that’s exactly what Elie Wiesel did. Born in Sighet, Romania on September 30th, 1928 Also a popular professor at universities in many places, Wiesel wrote nearly 60 pieces of literature, over 35 of those being books, before his death on July 2, 2016.
Imagine falling in love with someone that you just met and ended giving up your life for them. Well, that’s exactly what happened in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Romeo and Juliet fell in love, but their families are in a feud so they couldn’t be together so they did everything in secret even their marriage. Since no one knew of them being married, someone else proposed marriage to Juliet, and she didn’t want to since she was with Romeo. They tried to overcome their problems, but in the end they both ended up dying. One of Shakespeare’s major themes in this play is loyalty. Showing that loyalty is undying and being faithful with those you love.
Normally when people think of the play Romeo and Juliet, they think of love as it’s central component; Star crossed lovers who meet a tragic end because of a family fude. Not only is this play an investigation into the nature of true or not so true love, it's so much more. Shakespeare plays around with the idea of loyalty. Different kinds of loyalty are pited against each other from friends and family to love and the state. Different characters have to decide where their loyalties lie, and what happens when people's loyalties are different or not strong enough, or perhaps even too strong.
Love is an emotion many-if not all- desire for in their life, but should a person’s past flings call that love into question? Romeo had strong feelings for two different people in Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, one being Rosaline and the other being Juliet. Romeo’s feelings for Rosaline were more of an infatuation than love, but this does not weaken the credibility of his love of Juliet. There are three reasons that must be taken into account when talking about the connection between his infatuation with Rosaline and his love for Juliet. Many people have infatuations at some point in their lives before they meet someone they truly love, he learns many things from his infatuation that help to deepen his
Romeo at the beginning of the play doesn't have the most level-headed understand of what real love is and as an example at the beginning of the play he has "fallen in love" with Rosaline and proclaimed that she is the perfect example of a women. Then later on completely forgets about her after seeing Juliet. This gives the reader the sense that Romeo is not very deep in his feelings for women and has a more superficial idea of what love is. Throughout the play though Shakespeare was able to convey how Romeo has matured in his attitude toward love from a shallow desire to a profound and intense passion. His fidelity toward Juliet is quite abstract in the sense that he loves her enough to commit suicide because he feels that he is not able to continue his lie without her which is a demonstration of his faithfulness and loyalty to her. In Romeo and Juliet Romeo is driven by his emotions a lot of the time when making decisions. Examples of him doing this are that because of anger compels him to kill Tybalt in a duel to avenge to death of his friend and despair causes him to take his own life upon hearing of Juliet's death. He also is driven many times by his love for Juliet. Love forces him to make the reckless decision to sneak into the garden of his enemy's daughter and risk death only to catch a glimpse of her. These intense depths of feeing are what drive the character in this story
Immature love says: 'I love you because I need you.' Mature love says 'I need you because I love you.' Erich Fromm. Romeo and Juliet is based on immature love, and is not a true love story. Love is a great source of passion throughout the world. Though love is considered a good emotion, it can also be one of the biggest flaws a person can have. When one is in love, they will basically do anything to be with the one they love. They don’t care about the number of rules they break, or how much they change themselves, as long as they can be with the one they truly love. They may take drastic measures from defying their parents and friends to committing suicide. Shakespeare shows the power of love and the
