Hello, The Name's, John Winston Lennon and I’m singer and songwriter from the band the Beatles. I was born in Liverpool on October 9, 1940. When I was around five years old, my parents separated and I started to live with my aunt Mimi. At the age of five my mother wanted me to choose between her and my father. I first chose my father, but when his mother walked out on me I ran after her. I couldn’t bare to not be without her. Anyway on a happier note, at a young age, I was always interested in music. People like Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley were one of my inspirations to get into music. Heck, I begged aunt Mimi to buy me a pair of glasses just like Buddy Holly’s. I mean I probably wouldn’t use them anyway, because I don’t like wearing glasses. Back to music, the first instrument that I learned was a harmonica that was given to me by my uncle George. After my uncle’s death, in 1955, I continued to learn more about instruments and later learned to play the guitar. After about two lessons I was seriously going to quit, but after hearing that …show more content…
On April of 1970 The Beatles released that they were breaking up and McCartney announced his leave. I just didn’t want to be a band anymore. Me and Ono moved to the US on September, of 1971. We we were there me and Ono were threatened with deportation many times from the government. I believed that it was because of my activism against the Vietnam war. In ‘73 me and Ono separated because of a fight. And thankfully only after a year, me and Ono reconciled and had one son named Sean. Sean was obviously my favorite son between Julian and Sean. I quit singing in 1975 and became a house father to Sean. The last time me and Paul last saw each other was in 1976. After four years I went into the singing business again. The reason was after I heard Paul's new single come out, I thought it was good, not that I would tell McCartney that. In 1980 I released my album Double
"Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly. All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arrive, you were only waiting for this moment to be free" - The Beatles
Laurie Dickinson has served as the Music Theory Chairperson at the Boston University Conservatory of Music. In this article, Dickinson takes an investigative look into the rhythms of Hughes’s poetry. Although many people know Hughes was deeply inspired by jazz music, Dickinson uses many of Hughes’s works, including five of Hughes’s lesser-known pieces.
Everyone, Americans and Europeans alike, have heard-of, if not grown off of, a generation and culture started by an ensemble of four shaggy-haired Liverpool musicians that the world went mad over; no one can deny that no greater event impacted today's pop culture than "Beatlemania". But not everyone has heard the story behind the Beatles, who were they? How did they become the band and how did they make it big? What's the story of their struggle?

One of the most influential groups of the 20th Century—the Beatles revolutionized rock and roll into what we know it as today. Not only were they great musicians, they wrote and composed each of their songs. The band proved to be popular and exciting causing mass hysteria at each of their public performances. The “Fab Four’s” talent was so great that the phenomenon was termed “Beatlemania” in Britain and eventually erupted in the United States being called the British Invasion of the Beatles (Britannica Online, 2005).
There have been many people, known as artists, who have tried to change the world through their art. “Art” can be paintings, music, dances, sculptures, literature, or photography. There are many ways to communicate and express ones feelings but The Beatles did it through their popular music. Although they didn’t focus on changing the world of politics or try to protest through their music they have songs that focus on those exact two things.
The Beatles had been touring virtually nonstop since they came to America. The band decided to call it quits after their 1966

The guitar solo provided more emotional support to the lyrics of the song. It wasn't loud and it wasn't soft. It was right in the middle. The song had a medium tempo and the dynamic of the song is soft to high and then back to soft. Because of the soothing and soft to high dynamic of the song with the guitar producing the support, you feel the emotions the song is trying to provide. Most of the lyrics are repeated in song and the main vocalist said this line (“I don't want to leave her now. You know I believe and how") throughout the song, which is the main idea behind the song. The main idea the song is trying to portray is how there’s something special in the person he loves and he can't let her go. He said "Attracts me like no other lover" and” That I don't need no other lover" which means the girl he loves is irreplaceable. The lyrics of this song are relatable to everyone because it's about love. It's not something we can see or touch but it's an emotion that we all can feel and express at any given

John Winston Lennon was born on October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England (“John” 1). At the time, World War II was going on (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 14). His parents, Alfred “Alf” Lennon and Julia Lennon divorced when he was a child (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 21) and he had to move in with his aunt and uncle (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 25). In elementary school, he played guitar and harmonica, always enjoying music (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 32). The first song he ever learned was “That’ll be the Day” by Buddy Holly (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 33). As music took over his life, John got distracted and his aunt told him that he could not make a living by playing guitar (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 36). When John was teenager, he started writing and composing music (Canale 1) as well as drawing and writing books. He wrote two books, “In His Own Write” and “A Spaniard in the Works” (Watson 2). Similarly to Lennon, another musician got their inspiration at a young age. Kurt Donald Cobain was born on February 20, 1967 in Aberdeen, Washington to Wendy and Don Cobain (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well… 11). He came from a musical family and was introduced to music at an early age. When he was three years old, he wrote his first song, “Corn on the Cops.” When he started playing guitar, he held it backwards because he was left-handed, and played popular Beatles’ songs like “Hey Jude” (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well… 12). He was fourteen years old when he received his first electric guitar (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well… 18). Like John, Kurt was involved with the visual arts and enjoyed drawing, whittling, and painting (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well… 13). The two musicians’ background allowed them to prosper in the future.
America in the 50’s and early 60’s was a conservative country having recently been involved in World War II and the Korean war, and now facing the rising tide of communism. Americans were missing that little bit of excitement in their lives and people were very inhibited. They needed an outlet to let their suppressed feelings out. Then came four lads from England that would soon shock the world, who called themselves the Beatles. The Beatles in the 1960’s positively impacted America by changing the music industry and American youth culture, so that young people became more politically involved, freethinking, and independent. The Beatles legacy continues to affect society today by giving the young people a voice to be heard and influencing the way they live and view society today.
