Songs are like poems, having literary devices, expressing personal feeling, telling stories, the inspiration could base on real life. Also, songs could achieve experiences as films do, when people are listening to them. “Help” is one of the famous Beatles’ songs in 1965. It is a song which expresses the feeling and situation of the songwriter, John Lennon, during the time of the early Beatles.
The song’s title, “Help” is using just one single word to make a strong eagerness of getting aid, which exactly is the main theme. It was the peak of the Beatles when the song came out. “Beatlesmania”, one maniac phenomenon caused lots of problems. The worst result is the death of John Lennon. “He’s a victim of our celebrities-fixated culture?” (Hillis)

First, the lyrics are using the main theme and the title “help” as the opening with a short and quick tempo in the intro, which is expressive like rush into listeners’ mind and stuck in their heads. Moreover, by using repetition, the concept of “help” is easier to remember deeply. It is how the songwriter was trying to tell and awaken people about the troubles he was facing. Moreover, the line “Won’t you please, please help me?” has repeated in the three chorus. Also using a rhetorical question to keep asking the listener. Just as begging the audience to stop the crazy actions. The song structure is ABABAB. Repeating the verse and chorus in simple rhythms is catchy to people, the listeners would sing or hum the song out easily. There are many pairs of rhymes in verse and chorus. “Assured” and “Doors”, “Today” and “way”, “Down”, “‘round” and “Ground”, “Ways” and “Hazes”, “Insecure” and “Before” Rhymes are pleasing ears, which is important and common in lots of famous music. To depict the feeling, the songwriter has used metaphor in the lyrics. Figuratively, “opened up the doors” means the speaker different than the olden days, he is willing to leave the pride and get help from the others. Using metaphor can help the listeners imagine the scenario of how the speaker change just like open doors. Furthermore, the early Beatles were down to earth and humble, thus, John Lennon adds an American slang in the lyrics, “Feet on the ground”

The Help is written from the view of the three main characters Aibileen, Minny, and Skeeter from a small town named Jackson, Mississippi. First Aibileen, she is one of the primary African-American maids in the novel that works for the Leefolt family. Secondly, Minny is the feisty, smart-mouthing African American maid that works for Mrs. Holbrook till she is fired and later begins working for Mrs. Foote. Lastly, Skeeter is a young Caucasian woman who has returned from graduating college and dreams to be a writer. Skeeter hopes to change the typical southern views Jackson has of blacks that is apparent on every page of this novel. This sparks an ambition to write a book about the “helps” point of view on working for white families that is so
The first passage I chose from the book that I think goes along with the theme of help was in part two when Norman went to pick up his brother from Jail. On his way back to Helena Norman went to pick up Paul from jail after he was arrested
There have been many people, known as artists, who have tried to change the world through their art. “Art” can be paintings, music, dances, sculptures, literature, or photography. There are many ways to communicate and express ones feelings but The Beatles did it through their popular music. Although they didn’t focus on changing the world of politics or try to protest through their music they have songs that focus on those exact two things.
"Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," recorded in 1967, is to date the number one Rock and Roll album ever recorded. Sgt. Pepper's is considered to be the first concept album. Many bands took notice of the creative elements of Sgt. Pepper's and learned from them.
The Help tells the story of a young, white woman trying to write a novel to expose the reality that black women face in the south. Though the film highlights some important parts of the Civil Rights struggle, it downplays the extent of the issues. Though it perfectly portrays the terrorizing reign of whites over blacks, overall The Help is historically inaccurate by stereotyping characters, telling a good vibes only story, and making an unrealistic case to hit a target
In the refrain there is direct repetition unlike some songs that have different lyrics in each refrain. There is also the repletion of “can’t take the noise” at the end of the song. All the repetition gives a sense of insistency and urgency. When listening
Paul McCartney was born June 18, 1942, in Liverpool, England. His contribution in the Beatles in the 1960s helped pop music ascend from its origins in the entertainment business and morphed it into a highly respected creative commercial art form. He also remains as one of the most prominent solo performers of all time in terms of both recordings at his concerts and sales of his attendants.
The title of the book, The Help, is an example of metonymy. Stockett uses that title to refer to the black maids who work for the whites. This is particularly about the services they render to white households, which demonstrates the subordinate role of the black maids. They are valuable only for "the help" that they offer for the white women, but they are like slaves; they are inferior than others and they have no rights. This way of behaviour towards the black maids has led to their anger, frustration and rebellion.
