Becoming a veterinarian takes a lot of hard work and many years of schooling, but it is an immensely satisfying job for those that are comfortable with and passionate about working with animals as well as people. If you do not know as much as everyone else that just started out then you do not make as much money. Going to school and learning as much as you can then you can make a bunch of money. If at first school does not help you then keep on going at it and you can learn more then you ever thought you would. There is nothing wrong with needing more help when it comes to school if it helps you later in life to make more money. When first going in you can make $74,820 annually, median wage $96,260 and experienced wage is $123,500. The more you know the better chance of making more money. The amount of money you make depend on the amount of experience.

I chose this career because ever since I was little, I have always loved animals. I have always wanted to be a Veterinarian. In elementary school when we had career day, every year I would dress up as a Veterinarian. I also love science and biology, so I thought it would be a good mix of the things I love. I think this career would be perfect for me.

The roots of my passion for veterinary medicine stemmed back to when I was in kindergarten. Looking back, it was Christmas day of the year 2000, and my parents just gave me a video cassette tape in a beautifully wrapped box that contained a documentary. The elephants and their natural habitats in the documentary unexpectedly changed my life forever. After watching the whole documentary, I just could not resist the urge to rewind it and replay the whole thing again and again until the tape was too scratched up to function properly anymore.
