The amendments, voting rights and laws being made help or hinder my access to the American Dream as they involve many benefits and issues. Such as the first amendment, the voting rights and a immigration law would greatly benefit my American Dream. I will need the following factors in order to reach my life goal. Primarily, this amendment in particular is important because it makes a contribution to speaking up for what is right. In relation to the American dream, it can determine whether one has a saying to prove themselves capable of achieving the American dream. This exemplifies this amendment because it can determine many factors to a dream. This is important because if one cannot speak up for themselves, they can be limited to the opportunities they have in the process of the American dream. The amendment connects to the six big ideas by giving the people the right to have a voice. For example the Preamble Schoolhouse Rock states, ¨Promote the General Welfare”. For example, they say the people’s vote fully counts in terms of choosing a candidate. In the article “America’s Voting System is Crazy -- Here’s What You Need to Know” it states, “Instead of selecting a president based on how many votes they receive, the Founding Fathers established what's called the Electoral College. Each state gets the same number of electors as it has Congressmen and Senators -- and the bigger the state the more electors it has.” In other words, this means that the Electoral College has more of a saying due to the size of a state. Furthermore, the bigger the state the more votes it will have in terms of deciding who the next president will be.
