In today’s society, many topics create a very substantial amount of controversy between different groups of people. From abortion to the healthcare reform, there are countless topics of discussion. One of the major and ongoing controversial topics in the religious society is the Big Bang theory versus Creation. One side of the controversy is, predominately, the scientific community, with the other end obviously being the religious community. Genesis 1:1-2 says: “First this: God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see, all you don’t see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. Exodus 20:11 says: “For in six days God make Heaven, Earth, and Sea, and everything in them, he rested on the seventh day” The Message. I have found that there are quite a number of issues with the Big Bang theory. The first is that it says that a supposed explosion occurred, which resulted in our current universe. I find that this is extremely difficult to believe because that would mean that an explosion in a clothing factory would result in many nice clothes somehow appearing perfectly made because of the said explosion. Then, the Big Bang theory allows that the sun appeared a good amount of time before the earth. On the contrary, the Bible teaches that the earth was created first and the sun came later, on the fourth day of the first week (Genesis 1:1, 14-16). We can make the same point about the stars. In the Bible, the stars came much after the Earth, while the Big Bang theory says that they came before. Although there are many issues with the Big Bang theory, the Bible provides ample evidence of the Creation. In fact, it provides concrete evidence, which is something vital that the Big Bang theory lacks. As I said earlier, Genesis tells of the entire Creation. Genesis 1:27 says: “God created human beings, he created them godlike, reflecting God’s nature.” This is obviously solid proof, so I personally do not understand what other proof people need that God created the
