The Big First Day I walk downstairs to the dining set with the perfect lighting and background, with the table pushed to the wall to make sure it was out of the picture frame. I wore my orange Tommy Hilfiger T-shirt with khaki shorts. My sister made her way down the stairs and stood next to me as we put our hands around each-other’s shoulders and smiled for our first day pictures. I made my delicious first-day breakfast, consisting of some savoury Italian sausage and scrambled eggs. After devouring the flavorous meal, I ventured out to the driveway where we got in my sisters white Mazda. I was feeling like a gazelle being chased by a predator, so nervous and so eager for what the day held for me. Finally, we arrived at the Central York High School. The miraculously prodigious, white house version of our local schools. I watched the tall-teenagers walk into the building, dressed as fine as red wine for the first day. I still was nervous, the slight bug like force crawling around my neck. I sat still in the car, not knowing what to do, and fired questions out of my shotgun of a mouth. I was flabbergasted by the amazing doorways and the tremendous …show more content…
I kept walking and saw the gym doors. I’ve been in there multiple times, whether it was for volleyball, basketball, Battle of the Buildings, and etc. I knew this school, and I felt more comfortable now. But then, I started focusing on the people. I saw many of my sisters friends and they all gave me funny looks because they thought it was odd to see a little brother at the high school. I became even more nervous than before. How could this be so nerve-wracking? We were the kings of middle school, but now we were some peasants scurrying around the kingdom like an unwanted bug. I could feel the blood rushing to my fingertips, trying to get me to get out of this horrid
How I join the Army National Guard, was kind of crazy My friend name Rico campbell had told me he was about to join the Army National Guard and they were offering a $20,000 sign on bonus. I stated “do you know what we can do with all that money”. We Both went to a recruiter Name SFC (Sergeant First Class ) Tim Thomas he said “ what do you want out of life” both of us promptly replied “ I don't know”. I join The National guard that day but my Friend Rico nevered joined. After I join and Sign all the necessary paperwork SFC Thomas said “You are going to Iqra in may !”. At that time my heart dropped out of my body.
Thank you so much for your patiently waiting on this. I will defiantly consider you 30 day notice to be the day that you first were asking on the change in enrollment. Thankfully I do have the ability to make the care that you need flexible. At this time of year enrollment doesn’t tend to change much, so even if the contract is canceled, I am positive there will be spots available to Clara and Caden, whenever needed.
It was a normal Wednesday afternoon, english class had just ended and I had only a little homework. I met my friends like normal during break, but when I was walking to my fourth period spanish class I started getting a splitting headache, as if something was trying to push through my skull. I was trying to pay attention, but I still had the headache going on, refusing to relieve me of my pain.
Eisenhower High School has shaped me into the women that I am today. At first, the transfer from private to public middle school was difficult. I did not know what to expect from public schooling. Immediately, I was met with friendly faces and extraordinary teachers. When the time came for me to decide if I would attend a private high school or Eisenhower High School I didn’t hesitate on my decision. Since my first day walking through the newly renovated Eisenhower halls, I knew I had found my home for the next four years.
After the 4 days, I saw that if I ate a good breakfast and lunch nothing changed. I was still happy and my energy was high the rest of the day. But on Sunday, I didn’t eat a lot and I was using a lot of my energy over an extended period amount of time, my energy level dropped very quickly.
My first take-away originated from reading the section on Exempted Employees. I had the misconception that any supervisor could join a union if it was their choice. However, it turns out this is not 100% true since a supervisor who has the authority to direct, hire, fire, discipline, transfer or assign the grievances of other employees and who uses independent judgment in the exercise of each authority cannot be part of any union. Therefore, this was an important take-away for me because I now understand that supervisors who have the authority to hire, fire, etc. are excluded from joining a union.
The bell rung and with my heart pounding out of my chest, I exhaled and sped to my first class. A million thoughts were running through my mind and I couldn’t have asked for more. A new school and a new start was bound to shake the nerves of my body and the air around me. My brain was spinning and my hands shook as I held onto the door that seemed to hide a different dimension. Oh wait, there was a line to get inside. As I fell in unison with my peers, I thought about this thrilling experience.
One ‘mundane’ thing that I find marvellous is a day because my interactions are effecting people and showing who I am as a person. I have the power to learn about all sorts of things and finding out more about the world and how it works, giving me the chance to learn and create. Anyone can change in a day and can influence who someone become as a person, and a day gives anyone the power to influence anything. Although all the things that a single day can influence it can still be seen as mundane because there are so many days in a lifetime to a point where people get bored. The power that a ‘mundane’ day can give someone is crazy, I have the power to effect so many things in the present and I find that marvellous.
Today is the first day that I set foot into Central High School, one of the most prestigious high schools in Philadelphia. The blood rushes through my veins as I allow that fact to sink in. I climb up the steep hill, focused solely on trying to make my way to the deep red doors as other students, one by one, join their respective social groups.
The types of technology I interact with throughout a typical day are: my phone, laptop, and TV. I use my phone at the start of the day (as an alarm clock), and then throughout the rest of the day I use it to communicate (text/call) with friends/family. Basically, my phone stays with my 24hours of the day. I use my laptop as much as I use my phone. Typically, I am on my laptop 70% of the day. This includes browsing the Internet, listening to music, and using word/ other applications to complete homework. I would say that the TV is only used for a short period of time, only to watch the news, or a show.
My mom, dad, and me all work and go to school at different hours, as a result we have a habit of misunderstanding one another such as who is picking up my sister, Alaina. During the weekdays my parents work while I am at school, but at night or on the weekend when they are home I will be at work or at an after school activity. We do not have a lot of time that we are able to figure out our day to day schedules as a result when my mom says that I have to pick up my sister, but I tell her I cannot one day but can another day. There has been many times where Alaina has been left at bowling practice or at school without a ride home because my mom thought I was picking her up and I thought my dad was picking her up. Texting is an essential part
Because the competition took place over three days, the English coined the descriptive term “Three-Day Event,” and the sport of Eventing became firmly entrenched in the equestrian activities of Great Britain. The Americans adopted the English terminology and developed a general term, “combined training,” for this activity that is a combination of disciplines and training methods in the development of a usable riding horse.
This all started on one beautiful day in New Orleans while the bride and groom were getting ready for their big day. All two hundred and fifty guests flew out here to visit the town and get ready for the big day. Her dad was there to help and so was her best friend Jessica. The bride and groom decided to get married midMay because it was spring and they wanted to get married during the spring. A couple of weeks before Marilyn and Erin's big day they were getting the last stuff they needed to be finished up. They went to the cake shop and talked to the baker and made sure everything is going exactly on schedule and then they also needed to pick a topper. "Hey what about this topper," Marilyn said to Erin. " No, it's too plain", Erin said. "
On a typical day for me I wake up usually around 6:15 and slowly start getting ready for the day. I start by laying in bed for five minutes, or sometimes it may be more like ten. Once I finally get up I take my daily twenty minute shower. My parents try to tell me I need to shorten my shower time to ten minutes, but I like it how it is. After my shower I do what most typical teenage girls every morning, and begin doing my hair, and makeup. Once I am finish in the bathroom I go and find the perfect outfit for the day.
It was the end of the summer of 2013 and I was about start my perilous journey through middle school. I was just a squeaky ten-year-old who was scared but felt ready for new surroundings. My extremely impressionable brain was sure middle school was everybody’s worst nightmare because that was what T.V. taught me. I was frightened but ready to take on a challenge.
