I threw my books on my bed and approached the jacket slowly as if it were a honey bear I was about to wrestle. The jacket was guacamole colored with mustard yellow lines. My mom yelled and said that my jacket was in my closet. I flung the closet door open. I see it, the jacket was a crisp smooth leather padding for the sleeves with jean style felt for the body. It happened! My mom actually bought me the jacket I wanted. I put the jacket on. It looked like a benitoite jacket with ruby sleeves. I combed my hair just to see what I looked liked. I leaned against the the wall and my bed. It looked so cool. I didn’t want to take it off. I ran down stairs without thinking. I was ready in a hurry. Even though their was only 45 minutes until school starts. After getting off the bus I was proud of my jacket. It was warm and fuzzy. Perfect for this kind of weather. I walked with style. During morning recess I felt like the king of the world. Then HE showed up, Frankie T. The playground terrorist. I wasn’t ready for a morning beat down. But, then something crazy happened. He complimented my new jacket. “Nice jacket Jake!” What? Frankie complimented my jacket. I didn’t know what to say. I was speechless. I said “Thank you”, to him. Then the bell rang. After I got everything for first hour, I noticed that everybody was whispering. Probably talking about my jacket. During 4th hour the had a fire drill. We walked out to the field and waited. Then everybody was whispering. My new jacket was amazing! After the fire drill I continued on with my day. At 5th hour he had a math test. I felt so confident. After we were done with our tests it was time for electives. After the school day was over and I got home, I laid on the couch like a sloth. “What a amazing day” I just waited and waited. For what? I don’t know. But I guess that’s what happens when your home before anybody else. Oh
