The Blind side was an excellent book. There were many parts of the book that was good. The book had made you feel happy, sad and excited all at the same time. The blind side was one of the best books I have ever read. I liked how they started the book when they explained the football game. Then went to talk about the school and Michael. The most touching part of the book was when the whole Tuohy family accepted Micheal for who he was and not what he looked like. When Sean first saw Michael he knew what little Michael had and How much he has. He gave Michael a life that he would never have had if it wasn't for him. The book made me realize that our world needs to be more like the Tuohy family and accept all the people in this world no matter what they look like. The people of this world need to be more like Sean because he saw that Michael was in need and went out of his way to help him. When Sean first saw Michael he knew what big of a heart Michael had when he stayed back to pick up the trash in the stands even when he wasn't informed too.Michael was a very thoughtful man he put others first before himself. Michael wanted the Tuohy family to be safe that's how much he cared …show more content…
None of the teachers believe that he is capable of learning but when the biology teacher finds It in her classroom. This letter was filled with fear in Michael he is so nervous in that school. He lived in a neighborhood his whole life where everyone around him is black. He is not used to the fact that everyone in the school isn't the same as him. He feels different than everyone else because they look different. He was scared and didn't want to say anything because the white people might take it the wrong way. He is also probably just starting to go to school because of the paper he talks about how he has never done homework in his life. He has never been to a place like this before, and he is
If you like football this is the book for you. Michael oher plays football he's a defensive end and he's a beast. He played football for ole miss. Michael had a hard life trying to grow up by himself. His mom never cared about him. The book i'm reading is is The Blind Side. the archetypes for the blind side has a unique loyal sidekick named SJ, rags to riches plot structure michal turn as successful and mentor named lean tuie in the Blind Side.
In this book I had a lot of moments of truly being astonished by the characters views and what they would say. The line that meant the most to me in this book was when The Antagonist had given Michael Vey an ultimatum of either killing a innocent man or letting his mother die. Michael’s response to this was, “My mother would rather die then see me become a murderer” I liked this because it showed both the justice and willpower of Michael. I say this because I know for a fact that I would have killed that man because even if it would be the wrong thing to do
To me I feel like the author's overall message of this book is to never give up and show dedication to something that you love. The reason why I think this is because in life you’re going to have setbacks that you’re going to have to deal with, and you’re coming to have to overcome them and move on.) One of Michaels hardships was when his grandfather died. Michael was very sad about the loss of his grandfather but he had to put it behind him and focused on playing baseball. As Michael played baseball he then later put his dream of playing the Little League World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania.
One of the things about the book that I personally liked was the characters, some of them were easy to relate to, even if you couldn't you could relate someone you knew with them. For example, David is not one of the main characters from the story but the more you learn about him, the more you realize how ambitious he is, wanted to change his career path almost every week, standing up to Mr. Neck. I think he's one of the things that helped Melinda find her voice.
With Michael and his circumstances and the welcoming of him in the family this enhanced his
The film The Blind Side was based off of the book written by Michael Lewis and was directed and written by John Lee Hancock. The movie premiered on November 20th, 2009. Warner Brothers Pictures produced the film for a general audience over the age of thirteen because of language, violence, drugs, and sexual references. This is a story of a young African American boy, Michael Oher, and his struggle through life to become a successful human being with the help of the people around him. The Tuohy family, teachers at Wingate, and his tutor, Miss Sue, all worked together to help make Michael the professional football player and writer he is today.
His parents were never really in his life and he moved to different foster homes a lot as he kept running away. Due to the fact that he had little educational skills, he did not have the opportunity to learn how to read and write until the age of seventeen. Based on Michael’s physical abilities and size, he was accepted into a private school to play football despite his 0.6 GPA. At the school, most of the teachers gave up on him as he could not read and write, expect Mrs Boswell, who was his science teacher. She recognised his potential to improve his GPA and his reading and writing literacy. He was taken into the Tuohy family. Leigh Anne took charge of Michael so that he could reach his full potential by hiring a tutor for his academic growth. Within this family, Michael understood what a real family was like. Eventually his academic skills improved and he worked hard with his coach and his foster family to become a good football
One scene that came to mind was when he was practicing on the football field and wasent performing to his best ablity that everyone knew he had. In the Scene his adoptive mom Mrs. Tuohy helps him understand the position he is playing and how he should allude his players to his family, that its like protecting his family when he is playing. This scene display a great verbal communication concept that helps michael achieve what he was suppose to achieve which was perforimg at his highest level of tallent that everyone knew he had.
Through the use of low-key lighting, long-shot and dialogue, Hancock made me recognize the significance of friends and family by revealing to me the positive influence one young teenager can have on a range of people - in this case Michael is having a positive influence on Sean, his football team/coach and Leigh Anne. Not only did Michael influence these characters in a positive way, but they influenced him as well and changed him for the better. I'm concerned about the fact that our society is not improving instead it is becoming much worse with all the stereotyping that is rumoured. Avoid stereotyping others because you are not going to receive anything from it apart from putting others down. A million people did not believe in Michael at the start, but I am certain they changed their view on him

“The Blind Side” is a movie based on a true-life story of how Michael Oher goes through the difficulties in his life before he becomes one of the best defensive players of the NFL football team. Growing up in a broken family; where he had a drug-addicted mother, the father being in the prison and he, himself was always going in and out of the foster homes, as the audience, we all probably have already expected what will happen to this young man.
