On a clear Tuesday morning of September 11, 2001, America changed forever. Terrorists crashed two planes into the World Trade Center towers in New York City. Another plane was crashed into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. There was also a fourth plane which was most likely headed for the White House that crashed into a field in Western Pennsylvania. This devastating event changed people’s lives forever. Thousands of people were killed along with many who were injured. Some of the survivors of this tragedy suffer post-traumatic stress along with other complications. They planned this attack in revenge of America’s support of Israel and its involvement in the Persian Gulf War. It was also proven that they also wanted revenge on America’s military presence in the Middle East. Some of the 19 terrorists lived in the United States up to a year before the attack. They took flying lessons at American flight schools. With a few months left before the attack, all 19 terrorists were living in America. They smuggled all sorts of tools like knives, and box-cutters at three different airports and boarded flights to California. They chose to board these planes because the planes were loaded with enough fuel for the journey. As planned, after takeoff they hijacked each of the four planes and took control making these planes into guided missiles. American Airlines Flight 77 circled over Washington, D.C., and soon slammed right into the Pentagon military headquarters around 9:45 a.m. Due to the immense jet fuel, most of the building collapsed. “All told, 125 military personnel and civilians were killed in the Pentagon, along with all 64 people aboard the airliner.” As this devastating site was being broadcasted all over America, the horror in New York took place. The south tower of the World Trade Center immediately collapsed into smoke. Due to the burning jet fuel, the structure of the skyscraper couldn’t withstand the heat.
